Well, for me boasting about anime roles for James Arnold Taylor, I created this thread for people to share ideas of anime roles for THEIR favorite English voice actors. In this discussion, choose characters from anime series that are yet to be released in North America, or was released in North America subbed only. You can also think up of characters from different video games, manga, or literature you wish to see an anime adaption of as well.

Now, since listing without elaboration is strongly against the rules, here are a few rules when posting this thread:

  • Come up at at minimum of three characters in anime for you wish to see your favorite English VA voice and give at least two to three sentences explaining why these characters fits for the voice actor. You can use examples of the voice actor's previous roles (anime, games, western cartoons, etc) to help justify your point.
  • As well as posting the three anime characters, give feedback to other people's anime voice role ideas for his/her favorite character. Bear in note that it doesn't have to be the ideas of the poster above your post. You can even give feedback of the ideas from the third poster if you are the 50th person to post in this thread. The purpose of giving feedback along with ideas is to express opinion of others' ideas as well as feeling good of yourself from the feedback. Feedback can include additional anime roles for the person's favorite voice actors or the character choices and ideas for the English VA.
  • Be sure to follow the forum roles, be polite, and don't personally attack people for their ideas. And respect other people's opinions

Well, to start off, I'm going to give my anime voice role ideas to my second favorite voice actor, Johnny Yong Bosch:

Alfred F. Jones (a.k.a. America) from Axis Powers Hetalia: Johnny Yong Bosch is often credited for having a "heroic" voice, which I could back this up with his voice acting of Ichigo from Bleach and Firion from the game Final Fantasy: Dissidia. I like to see Johnny voice this character if Funimation picks this anime up because America fits into the "heroic" personality (well, a wannabe) from voice acting of Johnny Yong Bosch.

Accelerator from To Aru Majutsu no Index: Despite Johnny being credited for hero characters, I believe Johnny Yong Bosch to be the most flexible voice actor in anime. Apparently, Accelerator is considered to be an anti-hero by many people, and Johnny did voice an anti-hero before (Lelouch Lamperouge from Code Geass). If Johnny were to voice this character, I was thinking of a blend of Nero from Devil May Cry and Hollow Ichigo. Of course, I would consider Johnny Yong Bosch as my second option for Touma Kamijo.

Tenka Koganei from Sumomomo Momomo: This is really tough one to explain this, I am still reading the manga before I go watch the anime fansubbed. But I don't think Kōshi Inuzuka would be an appropriate character for Johnny. Johnny is a bit more of an tough action guy, and I think Tenka fits more for this voice actor.

Anyawys, post and share your ideas for potential anime roles for your favorite voice actor.

Edit: Oh, I misunderstood the point, so I did three characters from my favorite unlicensed series with different voices... sorry.

Nadeshiko Fujisaki from Shugo Chara: I'm quite addicted to the idea of Laura Bailey playing this character, She does the "little girl" type voice quite well, spoiler[but I mostly say her for her "little boy" voice, for Nagihiko. Example: Young Suzaku in Code Geass (especially in the audio dramas). ]

Ikuto Tsukiyomi, also from Shugo Chara: Johnny Yong Bosch would be my first choice, but if Funimation picked it up, that would be unlikely so maybe Chris Patton. They both can do an "I'm gonna steal those eggs" type attitude, as well as the type of attitude Ikuto has later on.

Kiseki, also from Shugo Chara: Mona Marshall would be the obvious choice for the "King" shugo chara, who acts so much like characters like Wolfram from Kyo Kara Maoh, who she played wonderfully.

Not sure who I would have play Amu, Utau, Kukai, or Tsukasa... Whoever plays Tsukasa has to be really good, because Akira Ishida played him in Japanese, and he's wonderful.

Thats kind of funny because JYB himself says he isn't that flexible in voice acting and that he usually only uses the same few voices he is capable of.

I appreciate the feedback about Johnny Yong Bosch, but can you at least be a little more detailed next time and at least give me a source here JYB said he isn't flexible in voice acting. Apparently the reason why I said that is mostly because of his wide range of voices from Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach to Itsuki Koizumi from Haruhi Suzimiya (and even after listening to Itsuki's English VA, I still have a hard time believing that Johnny Yong Bosch voice this character).

@Starre257:

That's an interesting choice of character for Johnny Yong Bosch to voice for Shugo Chara! He had done Bishonen anime roles in the past (like Itsuki Koizumi from Haruhi Suzimiya). I haven't watch Shugo Chara!, but thanks for sharing with me. But what about the voice actress for Amu Hinamori, the main female protagonist of the series. Reading from the description of the character in MyAnimeList.net, I was thinking of Stephanie Sheh should voice this character.

Technically, you are supposed to pick your favorite voice actor and pick three different characters from three different anime you would like to see your favorite VA do. However, I will allow posting your favorite anime you like to see dubbed and three different characters in the said anime with an English VA for each of the character if you cannot think of your favorite VA for three different characters from three different anime. Heck, I will loosen up my rules a bit and be more liberal by saying you can "mix-it-up" like my next ideas below:

Arthur Kirkland (a.k.a. England/UK) from Axis Powers Hetalia: I would choose Crispin Freeman. I've listened to some of his voice acting samples in his website and I can best say that it is "deep." Deep enough for him imitate a British accent for this character. Who knows, he might sound like a mix of Alucard from Hellsing and Paul McCartney.

Hayate Ayasaki from Hayate the Combat Butler: Now, I'm still mad at Bandai Entertainment for not dubbing Hayate the Cobmat Butler (which I feel it is worth more dubing than Lucky Star). Yes I know there is a dub, but I would need to go to Singapore to hear it myself. But Bandai want to straighten up and get this anime dubbed, I would choose Yuri Lowenthal for this character. Yuri is quite well-known for the "kid hero" roles like Yuuri Shibuya from Kyo Kara Maoh, Simon from Gurren Lagann, and Ben Tennyson from Ben 10 (technically speaking, the last one isn't really Japanese anime). Spike Spencer would be my second choice, but if he actually finds out what kind of character Hayate is, he'd probably reject in the quick second. If Spike ever wants to get a voice acting role in Hayate the Combat Butler, I'd give the honors to voice Wataru Tachibana.

Komoe Tsukuyomi from To Aru Majutsu no Index: Now I think many people may wonder why I want Jessica Boone to voice this character. Basically, I want someone to have some sort of "cute" voice this character, spoiler[mainly because Komoe-sensei looks like an adorable 10-year-old girl yet she's way older than she looks]. I'd use Boone's voice acting of Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh.

I heard it a few years ago so inconveniently I don't have the source on hand. I do remember it was a video interview with Greg Ayres and Bosch at a convention though. I was however impressed with his Renton Thurston voice in Eureka Seven since the voice was at a higher pitch which was really unexpected.

Wow... me and my friend were talking about Hetalia dub casting yesterday... We thought Crispin Freeman could play Germany, but he would also be good as England.

We also thought Yuri Lowenthal could play Italy. I think this might have been influenced by my friend's Uchihacest / OrangeZaku ideas. >.>

Funny thing is that I thought about Doug Erholtz voicing Germany mainly due his "tough guy" voice acting of Squall Leonhart from Dissidia: Final Fantasy. I actually thought of Yuri Lowenthal voicing Japan mostly due to his voice acting of Suzaku Kururugi from Code Geass and Sasuke from Nartuo. And I want to see James Arnold Taylor voicing North Italy, think of it like Tidus with an Italian accent.

Anyways, I manage to finish watching the "Aureolus Izzard" arch from To Aru Majutsu no Index yesterday. Apparently, the voice actors for some characters I've thought up is a bit difficult, so here are some of my best voice actor ideas in my head:

Aureolus Izzard: This is a bit difficult on who to choose for who should voice this character for the dub. I was thinking of Crispin Freeman, but his voice is too deep for Izzard. I'm going with Liam O'Brien mainly because his voice acting of Gaara from Naruto and Lloyd Asplund from Code Geass impressed me.

Aisa Himegami: Hmmmmm....I'm kinda stuck between Kari Wahlgren and Stephanie Sheh. I've listen to their voice samples in the own websites (although I really make my own judgement since it would be really nice there were videos that follow the voice acting). However, I think Kari Wahlgren may be appropriate for this character while I believe Stephanie Sheh should voice Maika Tsuchimikado, spoiler[the younger step-sister of Motoharu Tsuchimikado].

Motoharu Tsuchimikado: Doug Erholtz, for the similar reason with his voice acting of Squall Leonhart. Although his voice acting of Conrad Weller from Koy Kara Maoh! is impressive as well.

well let me give a try here my version of it

Ikaros from Sora no Otoshimono i would like have Chantal Strand as ikaros well it just sense a vibe connection yet with way Chantal have sounded she would very match to ikaros

ryuji takasu from toradora well i got some choices like let brad "set-light" swaile well give fact i might some similar of sort but if went to u.s. roster well JYB would be another option.

taiga aisaka from toradora yep i want to hear what would the taiga would sound in english give some ideas from Tabitha St. Germain besides i did sense some shana feel in toradora or Chantal Strand (long shot but i would hear another side of Strand) but if u.s. roster well let possible choice would be Cristina Valenzuela saw those fan-english clips yet she did louise the zero.
