I gotta admit, while I've never been interested in the Guilty Gear series compared to other traditional fighting games, I was quite surprised when they announced this port last year, I thought that ArcSys would wait until the release of the Switch 2 to port Strive, but it when it was announced it was quite interesting to have seen such negative reactions such as, "who asked for this?", "if you wanted to play GG: Strive on the go just buy a Steam Deck", etc., but I think people failed to see that, as pointed in this review, porting fighting game into less powerful hardware is a pretty common practice, the original Game Boy saw ports of games such as Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, Real Bout: Fatal Fury Special, The King of Fighters, Battle Aren Toshinden, with various degrees of success.
However, I think people were worried, particularly after the graphical disaster that was Mortal Kombat 1 on the Switch, but it seems Tantulus, who were in charge of porting the game, did a great job, perhaps we should include GG: Strive in the list of other "miracle Switch ports" alongside games like The Witcher III, NieR: Automata, Doom '16 & Eternal, No Man's Sky, among others.
