I'm an avid reader of manga but I've noticed that some of my favorite titles are not being released here in the US anymore.
Does anyone know what's going on with the Elemental Gelade (Erementar Gerad) manga that's released by Tokyo Pop. There's been no new releases since vol. 10 but they're up to 14 or 15 in Japan and Germany already.
There's also Dorothy of Oz released by Udon Press. This one updated regularly for the first four volumes but there's been no word on vol. five for some time now.
Finally there's ADV Manga's Gunslinger Girl series. Again it was updated regularly until vol. 6 and then it just dropped off the face of the planet. Vol. 7 is out in Germany but not here.
If anyone knows what's going on with any of these titles I'd appreciate whatever information you have on them.

This should really go in the general questions thread, but I can answer a few of these:
Gunslinger Girl: ADV stopped publishing manga. Yen Press picked up Yotsuba&! from them, but most of their titles are still in limbo. I'm hoping someone picks up and finished Cromartie High School personally, I hate only have 12/17 of the volumes released
Tokyopop problems: several months ago, they lost the rights to all of their Kodansha titles. Some have already been rescued, Parasyte by Del Rey (although that was before this occurred), and a few CLAMP titles (Clover, Chobits, Cardcaptor Sakura) by Dark Horse. They've just been having problem after problem lately, first with the slew of god-awful OELs no one wanted, then the paper, then the Kodansha loss, etc. Not sure if Elemental Gelade is a Kodansha title to be honest, but even barring that, they've just been having a lot of set backs lately and had to drop a lot of series.
*edit, wait I can
Dorothy of Oz: according to Wikipedia, only 4 volumes are currently out in Korea. Since it's still ongoing, they're waiting for volume 5 to be published to begin with.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section but thanks for the help.
I was poking around the Tokyo Pop site earlier and they did have a listing for vol. 11 of Elemental Gelade. The release date was set for February 7th of 2010 so I'm guessing the series was just delayed rather than cancelled.
I'm glad to know Dorothy of Oz is still in the works too. I didn't think Udon had the same problems as Tokyo Pop so maybe it's just a case of writer's block.

Thankfully, Tokyopop slowed down the release schedule on a lot of their lower-selling series rather than outright cancelling them. There's a bit more of the history on that here and here.
