Well, I disagreed when Light started using the Note to take out those tracking him (if he truly were as intelligent as he'd like to think he is, and as just and righteous, he would have found a way to dodge the cops and not kill anyone on the "right" side of the law; I mean, they had absolutely no way of pinning anything on him at all) but I don't think he was wrong to save taxpayer dollars by throwing theives, murderers, rapists, pedophiles, wife/child beaters etc on the cold slab. Instead they go to prison where they get a salary; hell some low security jails have a _golf course_. They can usually get whatever they want too; drugs, soft drink, chocolate whatever. Some punishment. It's like sending a kid to their room where they're locked in with their computer, guitar, skateboard etc But back on topic; I think anime in general has made more subtle changes in me. I think I'm a bit more motivated to do productive things with my life.. I essentially took up AIkido and then other forms of martial arts as well as parkour and gymnastics probably because of anime - or at least it had a hand in motivating me. I think it has also given me a stronger moral compass, for better or worse. |

Neon Genesis Evangelion taught me about the Sea of Dirac (a debunked physical model), so I got interested in other crazy theories that physics throws up.
Death Note allowed me to put into words what I had been feeling for a while; this world - read humanity - is rotten. Except it is also the most beautiful and amazing thing that we humans know about, so Light only had half the picture. He was seeing only the bad. As for other people, I'm pretty sure TTGL taught a generation of fanboys that you can ignore the laws of reality if you bare your chest and yell your lines. How disappointed they will be when they try that in real life and are laughed at or kicked down. Confidence may help you catch a lady but it doesn't stop that bus from hitting you . . . Similarly, almost every science fiction show or series ever set in space tries to convince people that Newtonian Laws don't exist. Sadly, given how successive generations of production staff continually show spacecraft stopping in space when the thrusters are turned off, one wonders if large segments of the Japanese public actually don't believe in basic science. |

Does anime have an infulence on me?
I think anything you watch, read or do can have an influence on you if you let it. To answer your question, yes. I do think it has had an ifluence on me. Not to long ago I watched an anime that really got inside my defences and struck a real emotinal blow to me. I even posted about it so I won't go into detail here. animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=115275&highlight= I saw alot of myself in that situation so it struck a little to close to home for me. Not to say I didn't like the show, but it was hard to watch at times. I remained a little depressed for several weeks after seeing it. As for a direct influence, the other day I was driving through the gate at Eglin AFB on my way to work and I gave the guard on duty the little two finger salute you see so many anime charectors doing. Aperantly I have been doing this for a while and not even realized it, because the guard said it has become my trademark. Who knew? |

Oh certainly. Before I started watching anime I labored under the delusion that in order to attract women I had to be interesting, witty and well groomed. I now realize that by simply being tremendously shy and boring, I can attract a whole group of girls all of whom will fall madly in love with me shortly after which I will repeatedly fall onto their massive breasts. As such, I have ceased to bathe.

The occasional show here and there helps reinforce to me the importance of caring for family members and other people in general. Alas, financial problems and their like can have their effects on my mood as well, which often distract me away from the more important issues. However, I assume the stress-relieving affect of the more emotional titles, such as the one you mention, render them somewhat useful in this respect. |

'Tis all true. Why oh why did I make the mistake of dating normal girls? If I had just been a Japanese teenager who had a libido turned up to eleven and yet was still a virgin, and if I had been plain and uninteresting or at least fairly generic so that other Japanese males everywhere could readily identify with me or imprint their personalities onto my character, I too could be living with three to six gorgeous girls (one of whom may be a princess) who are totally into me despite my near-complete unattractiveness, and who sport the same perfect body but with varying bust sizes, hair, eye, and skin colours, and who fill out every possible fetish that I could want (and a few I don't). The girls would either; work me like a slave in the moments she/they isn't/aren't yelling at me and trying to ignore the growing sexual tension growing between us, or try and force feed me and do all my cleaning (when she finds the pornography that guys like me always have there will be ructions) and - also to my chagrin - laundry, or they will simply be trying to get into my pants and/or forcing me to grope their breasts (latter applies mostly to the retarded one in the group). Of course, me and my one to three regulation sidekicks will try and ogle them in the mandatory beach episode and spy on them in the even more mandatory hot springs episode, but we will fail inevitably and comically, which will just earn us a beating from the Tsundere of the group, which doesn't help since we are already suffering from fainting spells due to extreme blood loss via the nose. And at the end of it all I'll pick the girl anyone with half a brain knew would win and I'll settle down for domestic bliss with her, though she will need to work as an escort for a little while to pay for the breast-reduction surgery required to ease her chronic back pain, whereupon I will spend the money on porn or a new entertainment system as I don't want her to get the surgery (small-chested girls never truly get along with lecherous guys like my kind). Ah, what a (utterly unoriginal) story I will have to tell my grandchildren, though usually I don't actually get to have grandchildren (or even a wedding) because the show ends before it happens, as virtually no-one in the target audience (read; mostly loser guys) wants to see the hero A: be the socially-competent person they themselves long to be, and B: give up the possibility of having three relationships at once like you can get away with in the original games these sorts of series tend to be based on. Whew, that was, er, extensive . . . Anyway, my point being, I could have scored a hot chick (and maybe more than one) if I had only been a financially destitute, academically challenged loser. By not waiting for a harem to appear out of nowhere I have made some terrible decisions in life. Shame on me for getting into university on my first try. Shame on me. Don't forget the possible yuri couple where two of the girls may discover they have feeling for each other, or the girl that is so young that you probably could get arested for what they do to you. I kind of think the whole Harem thing is kind of cruel, for one all but one girl will end up crushed that they can not get the guy they liked. Aswell as the fact it can kind of look at girls in a bad way. Still I get dragged to them.
Oh another, I think anime has given me a bigger likeing for romance stories as I never thought I like romance anime, but they probably are a good amount of what I have watched. Also probably given a bit better understanding of people with different sexualities, anime tends to have it more often and understanding of other media I have seen. |

Anime definitely has an influence on my personal character.
It usually puts me in a good mood for quite a while. Come to think of it, anime has also changed my way of thinking. Lucky Star is one of the most uplifting comedy based anime I've ever seen. If you're ever in a bad mood, watch Lucky Star. And though it seems unlikely, Negima!,(The manga.), could have a good influence on a person...depending on his/her current frame of mind. Negima! usually puts me in a good mood during the fight scenes, and the scenes that tells you about the characters. |

I was (am) really into Princess Tutu so I decided to take Ballet lessons .__. yeah. But on the plus side, now I like Ballet beyond my shallow hopes of becoming a magical ballet wonder, and am currently retaking Balllet I anyway because I am actually full of suck, but I like it
When I watched Cowboy Bebop I wanted to be like Ed for some reason (I was like 13, I have somewhat excuses) so I tried walking wierdly on my hands for like, a day. Then that stopped when I got a pin in my hand. Higurashi made me keep on referencing bill hook cleavers with my friends. I think I creeped them out a bit. In general, if I watch or read something that's inspiring or that I just liked, I find that I'll be more happy (well yes, duh) but also I'll get a brief boost of confidence, which can last anywhere from 5 mins to 5 days, you know. But I feel that anime, or at least some, has somewhat made me be able to be a better person, I hope. |

This pretty much sums up my feelings. Do I enjoy anime? Absolutely, but I can't say its influence on my life has been so great that's shaped who I am today. |

On the whole I would say it transformed me from a strange person into a stranger person who now tries to convince one of my male mates to dress up as mikuru maid form, not that I didn't try to dress him in various things beforehand
 . I don't think any singular anime has caused me to change much beyond making in-jokes on occasion, I prefer to stick to my own morals (or lack thereof) rather than be influenced by how something is portrayed in media. Though I do have a higher appreciation of cartoons now.
