I will say coming off of me being utterly disappointed from Happiness Charge Precure, this series that came after felt like a step to the right direction. This is especially true for the Yellow Precure for Go Princess since Kirara just owns every time she's on screen. I seriously like everything about her sassy personality and determination which makes her one of my top favorite Yellow Precures. Cool

Yes, one of my favorite seasons! And don't worry, having seen this when it aired, Haruka becomes a much more layered character in the second half. I think. It's been a while.

There are probably Precure series that are better, but this one will always be my personal favourite. It has the best outfits and transformations, the best animation, the best character development... what's not to like?

This series is GOATed and everyone should watch it.

Cure Flora is my favorite canon Cure (I say because I am a Cure Waffle believer) because she is so much like myself, using the word "princess" to mean beacon of hope, and her aesthetic is so me.

This is the series that truly gives Heartcatch a run for its money as the most popular.

For me I think the most interesting thing about Haruka, at least for the first half of the series, is her diligence. She's far from the first magical girl lead to depart from the Usagi Tsukino mold of unacademic crybaby, but rather than being particularly brainy or naturally badass, we see her as a hard worker. A true princess is strong, kind, and beautiful? Well she doesn't know what to do about the second two, but she can definitely work on the first by getting up early to go on runs. She actively seeks out mentors like Minami and puts in the work to learn as much as she can. Her whole goal of becoming a princess isn't remotely like an idea of marrying into a life of luxury, it's a process of becoming a person she aspires to be and can be proud of. It's all a little mundane and maybe makes her less obviously impressive than other protagonists, but it all makes her someone I find easy to root for and find inspiration in.

I am sorta dissapointed with the whole "Haruka is boring and the other characters are better." I love Haruka and she's just a sublime character, Hana from Hugtto is a much better lead but I wouldnt Haruka doesnt measure up, she's a simple character, but such an extremely noble and endearing on. She's a self made woman, that silly lil' book made her learn to simply be her best self. She entered a school most people get by Nepotism or just paying a lot of money, she entered the Elle Woods way, which is studying studying and more studying. And hard work is just her second name. I absolutely love that while she's simple there is more than meets the eye. Absolutely Amazing lead in an Absolutely Amazing season.

Without spoiling, I will say that Princess Go has one of the best final fights in the franchise. The animation is amazing. And, to me, the conclusion of the fight was perfect.

Honestly I am in agreement with that other poster, in that the calling out of Haruka as uninteresting almost feels like someone else took over a Rebecca review for a second and it wasn't caught in editing, it was shocking to see. Haruka is the show, straight up. She is the show. She's a normal girl who wants to be something big, and she fails a lot because she's awkward but she keeps trying. That is the show. That's Precure. So really to call that uninteresting, I feel is rather more telling of what someone really thinks about the show more than any review or letter grade can sum up, as harsh as that may come off. Although, there isn't anything wrong with feeling that way about it.
Bringing up her, comparable, lack of character development when you know that with Precure it can sometimes wait until the final arc to happen also feels, unnecessary. I can't say I agree with the use of it for a episodes 1-25 review.
I think in a way you realize too that Minami is fundamentally more uninteresting considering you didn't write a thing about her though.

The second best Precure after Heartcatch. I'm begging you Jin Tanaka, stop writing movies for a second and compose a third season, it's been long enough since Kira.

I agree with everyone saying this is one of the stronger Precure seasons. This one is particularly dear to me since I watched it weekly during a very sad and stressful year of my life, where an episode of Princess Precure was just what I needed to cheer me up a little.

Haruka and Kirara are this show's biggest strengths. Haruka's innocence and perserverance perfectly embody all that is good about magical girls, while Kirara's storyline about duty vs dreams is the most compelling one throughout the season. Also, Kirara steals every scene she's in.

Towa's arc is sadly undermined by the fact that she was brainwashed. Her story is treated as a story of redemption, when there's nothing for her to atone or apologize for. She was kidnapped as a little girl, had her memories erased, and was forced to do Dyspear's bidding against her will. Redemption stories lose their weight when you rob characters of their agency, so I much preferred the parts where she was framed as a victim traumatized by her past, and the other girls did their best to cheer her up.

Minami was not too memorable for me.

On a different note, I find it funny how Kirara has both one of my favourite Precure transformations and one of my least favourite Precure designs. I can't tell you how many times I replayed Cure Twinkle's transformation on Youtube when it first came out. But at the same time, Cure Twinkle gives Cure Bright a run for her money in the worst design department. God that hair is hideous Laughing

Don't worry, everyone, I quickly changed my mind about Haruka in the second half of the series.

I ended up loving her. I still think Minami is the one I relate to the most right now (that whole balancing family expectations thing), but Haruka's inner strength really shone in the second half of the series. All of you were right about her.
