... real life had background music?
Yes, I know this seems like another "cosmo thread," and I apologize if it does, but I just got out of my music history class and was wondering how much more fun life would be if background music were occasionally played.
I can't say I have any songs in particular that I'd like to hear, but depending on the situation, I can say it would be interesting to see.
For instance, just the other day in my music class, we took a quiz that had about a 5 minute time limit. We started the quiz right at the top of the hour (which is when class begins.)
Unfortunately, some of the other students were late and when they got in, the teacher said they had 30 seconds to take the quiz. Ironically enough though, I had let my teacher borrow the first OST for Cowboy Bebop the previous night, and when we were turning in our quizzes, she started playing "Rush."
The title, song, and atmosphere just fit togehter SO well, I thought it'd be cool to have that happen in other situations.
So, do any of you anime music lovers have any preferences or instances in which this has happened or you would like to happen?
I know it sounds like I have a lot of time on my hands, and I do. But out of curiosity and fun, I just thought I'd ask this question...

It would be great to have background music.
It would be awesome if it changes according to how you're feeling and what you're doing.

Yeah, background music would make life a lot more intresting. Music changes depending on the mood of the enviornment. It would sure make some places more comfortable as long s the music was good (unlike waiting on the phone or elevator music....)

Am I the only one in the universe who enjoys elevator and grocery store music? =/
And yeah. Life could use alot of background music. Now then again, I'm just afraid of good stuff being overplayed and such.
Hell. That's why the radio and iPod exist. =P

But you get yelled at for having that those on during a conversation...
Also, that constant little wait music or grocery music is fine, just as long as I don't have to listen to it for too long.

Oh, yeah? Well I got four whole Chihiro Onitsuka pieces played in Chemistry. Beat that.
We've also had Bebop, Outlaw Star, Utena, and Eva in the dining halls, and some Blue Gender...somewhere...but I had nothing to do with those ones. ;p

Wasn't there a Family Guy episode about this?

ohhh =O
I got my mom hooked to the Someday's Dreamers OST, and she brought it to work (she works at a pre-school), and she played it to get a kid to go to sleep. Her co-workers also loved it. =P

Yup,sure is cool if there is background music especially to fit the occassion
But when i come to think of it, i do hum tunes in my mind all the time...although not to create the 'suspense' atmosphere or whatsoever.
Then again, some tunes do get annoying!!(try living with siblings that make the 'Jaws' music or irritating tunes during conversation)

I'm sure it won't be too far off until this basically becomes reality.
Everyone will have some sort of ipod type thing (more likely a cell phone) that is always on. Some sort of nifty sensor software/hardware will be implemented and your music device will 'randomly' play music that matches your current heartrate and hormorne levels. lol
And while I'm at it, I'd like a set of Haibane wings too!

Not really, because it would get really annoying after awhile. I'll stick to listening to my ipod on the go if I want music.
