Maybe there will be a nice turn around for the company. Hopefully the person that purchases 4Kids will not be such an advocate of the slaughtering (dub and edit) of shows. I supose they did introduce a lot of people to anime but I am a still a bit sore from "Cardcaptors" and "Mew Mew Power." *shudders*

Cardcaptors wasn't dubbed by 4Kids, it was dubbed by Nelvana.

That's my hope, too.

Best possible scenario imo: new company owner'll re-dub CCS, TMM, and Shaman King (just CCS and SK would make me overjoyed. I was heartbroken when I learned of the cancellation of the un-cut SK dvds).

Cardcaptors was Canadian animation studio Nelvana doing the hack 'n' slash, not 4Kids.

Is this good? If so, then I hope someone will pick up Tokyo Mew Mew, give it a decent dub, or MAYBE even put it on a DVD release!! Very Happy

Current stock price $1.95.

Their current list of properties is in a state of decline. Just look at the list.

With proper brand management, a select few could come off life support.

There still seems to be some brand equity in 4KIDSTV. That could easily be retooled into a viable option of offering other select properties via the national networks.

TV however, as we all know, is in a state of decline as the Internet provides more options (schedule, variety, information, etc.).

The real key is, will parents have enough disposable income to buy the products that will be advertised through a 4KIDS brand?

The answer will be NO as health care, deficit spending, job losses, debt transfers, inflation continue to compete for the american dollar.

Why is the dollar so weak if every concept wants it?

Yes, Funimation please stretch yourself further then you already are in this risky gamble to please us all. Do any of you clamoring for that actually realize what you're asking of them? They are already possibly stretching themselves too thin with too many new titles and titles they've saved from other companies. They are still easily the company doing the best right now in the R1 market but they are IMO getting a bit close to the line between healthy and over stretched. So I personally do NOT want them to pick up 4kids or any other titles/companies beyond their own internal acquisitions. Unless of course you all want them to stretch themselves too far with too much product that's not selling and go down that part of the ADV route.....

Sorry I got one hack n' slash wrong but they still did ruin Tokyo Mew Mew which I like. This would be a good thing for Funimation to have. If they got it they would put Kodocha on the air (maybe) and then inturn liscense the rest of the series.

Maybe that is just long shot thinking.

I think that parents will alway be wasting money on things there kids want. It's just how much money they are able to waste. If the 4Kids products are what the kid really wants then they will buy it.

Uncut Yugi-oh would do DBZ numbers no doubt. I'm sure they could sell off all of the stuff they don't think would sell or be worth anything. Plus there is that 4Kids block on CW that Funi could use to promote its own shows. I don't think Overlord Gen is stupid enough to overstretch his company but this could be a good business move if done correctly.
