Ok is this a prequel or something to the movie? Because spoiler[in the series Motoko is one of the characters and as we all know who've seen the movie, she fused with the puppet master to become another form]

spoiler[It's actually set in an alternate universe. One where there never was a puppetmaster. So in this universe she's just the same old Motoko. The movie GITS: Innocence, is set in the original universe of GITS, so the major will only be making a brief appearance. ]
