Hello there! I'm new here and have been getting more and more into anime lately. I have a couple of questions that you guys probably know.

First, I just finished watching all 112 episodes of Yu Yu Hakusho (friend had a set of them he let me borrow from Japan), is there anymore? Seems to me, and my friend, that they could continue the series or end it where they did.

Second, I seem to enjoy the martial arts/nina type anime (Ninja Scroll has always been one of my favorite films, Yu Yu Hakusho was great, Rurouni Kenshin/Samarai X is just perfect, DB/DBZ/DBGT was very entertaining. ect.). What would you guys recomend beyond along those lines for both series and movie (seem to enjoy series a bit more as they tend to last longer normally)?

Thank you in advance! Cheers!

Oh yes, the movies as well. I haven't seen either of the Yu Yu Hakusho movies, but do they take place after the end of the series? Seems to me that from what I've seen, the charactors on the covers, that the movies take place before the series end. I would love to be wrong on that though.

First of all welcome to the forums Smile

I would suggest that you check out some of the following titles:
Samurai Deeper Kyo
Hellsing
Ghost in the Shell
Cowboy Bebop
Nadesico
Outlaw Star
Scryed
Trigun
Those are all that I can think of at the moment. As for your question about Yu Yu Hakasho I think there were like one or two movies.

Well according to ANN anime guide there are only 112 episodes of Yu Yu Hakusho, plus two movies, but I"m not sure if it takes place before of after the series. Well if you liked dragonball you might like inuyasha. The dragonball storyline is quite slow moving, and inuyasha in a way reminds me of the DB series. Its has a nice story line, it has fight scenes with humor, and its 157 episodes long. Or X TV which has nice animation, and cool fights as well.

Ah, so you like martial arts anime, eh?

Well, if you like fighting games, I'd like to suggest:

Fatal Fury OAVs and The Motion Picture
Night Warriors: Darkstalker's Revenge OAV
Street Fighter Alpha: The Motion Picture
Street Fighter II V (that's letter V, not 5)

If you like feudal settings or titles with supernatural demons and such, I'll suggest:

Berserk
Hellsing
Inu-Yasha
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
X (TV)

The above mentioned aren't all, but I believe they have more action than any of the other ones I was thinking of.

I'm also glad you like Kenshin. It is my #1 (in Japanese though. Razz)

Well, good luck on your search, and feel free to ask any questions concerning these titles I listed.

And welcome to the forums! Wink

Naruto is so right up your alley it's beyond me how no one else has mentioned it. Tenjou Tenge and Samurai Champloo would fit your tastes like a glove, as well.

On a similar note, it never ceases to amaze me how people act around here when it comes to suggesting titles. When people ask for suggestions and are vague about what their tastes are, others will demand more info. But when people are precise and specific about what they want to see (like Draky is here, and it was much appreciated by the way Smile ), everyone suggests everything except titles along those lines (the Fruits Basket thread is a great example of this...I mean where do you get Excel Saga from Furuba!?).

So yes...get Naruto, for certain. And welcome.

Hmm. (*wishes to see Naruto*)

And how could I forget Samurai Champloo? I was on that show's case saying how good it was for about a week after just ONE EPISODE.

Yes, I will also recommend Samurai Champloo. It takes place... well I forget when because my knowledge of Japanese history isn't very good. But I think it was around the end of Sengoku jidai.

I like to make the reference of this show being like Rurouni Kenshin meets Cowboy Bebop, only with hip-hop rather than jazz.

It may sound weird at first, but once you see it, you might understand. Smile

There's a sticky thread right at the top of the forum for these types of questions. I'll even post a link to it here for you. animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1628
