The most rare anime I got is the Street Fighter 2 movie, in japanese and originial music, and I only got it on VHS, I tried looking all over the internet for it but couldnt find it on dvd at all, they only have the english dub. I was lucky that this guy selling kung fu flicks at a little stand in the mall had it.
Whats the most rare anime you have, and how did you get it?

I've got Kaleido Star DVD Box 2 Lawsons limited edition. I won it in an auction, and it's the only one I've ever seen for sale.

hrm.. maybe my old fansub of Neighborhood Earth Defense Force? it was this absolutely brilliant 80s ova that managed to parody the 80s perfectly while being made in the 80s. Mullets, action poses, mount fuji backdrops, the works. Practically noone's heard of it... sigh
I bought it off a fansubber friend of mine in 1998 or so from a collection that he in turn bought from another fansubber that sold off his entire tape collection. We also got a lot of great copies of studio ghibli movies, like a project Daicon sub of pompoko, and a Typhoon sub of Mimi o sumaseba, some great fansubs of AMG and Bastard, and a few other rarities like To-Y and Weathering Continent.

I doubt many people have Bayscape 2042. It's not anime, per se, but it's an important part of anime fandom in the US.. i've got it. :)

Crispin Freeman? Awesome, I loved him as Amon and Tsume. Ha ha ha, his dream date (anime character) would be Robin...LOL Real would be Natalie Portman...just some funny facts.

Err. Well, I have some Limited Edition stuff, but I guess it can't be considered rare, unless you want it to (because you can still find some of it if you look around.)
I recently went on a shopping spree for LE anime DVDs and picked up quite a few. Here's a list of what I've bought since about April:
.hack//SIGN Vol.1-6 LE (that Vol.1 cost me over $100 on eBay )
Chobits LE Vol.1 + artbox
Escaflowne the Movie: Ultimate Edition
Saber Marionette J Ultimate Collector's Edition (#3299/5000 and signed by the creator, Satoru Akahori, himself)
Witch Hunter Robin Vol.1 LE + artbox, T-shirt, and shot glass
X (TV) Vol.1-8 LE + box & all slipcases (lucky... )
I also just ordered .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet Vol.1 LE + artbox & CD and Haibane Renmei Vol.1 + collector's box.
I guess next will be Evangelion Platinum... (so many titles ...)

The Ultimate Edition Box for the Tenchi Muyo! OVAs has been discontinued, right?
If so, I guess I'll chip in with that.

I got a couple of anime DVDs bought from overseas and they're never sold in Singapore. So unless someone else went overseas and bought them, they're the only pieces here, and I have them.
1. GITS on DVD
2. Perfect Blue on DVD
3. Blood on DVD
4. Gunsmith Cats on DVD
5. Bubblegum Crisis: 2040 on DVD (not "rare" as in rare, but they were only ever sold in Singapore on Video CD)
Some others I forgot. Most of the other DVDs I have are bootlegs (as some of you have pointed out to me) from Taiwan or Hong Kong and they're plentiful here.
