the songs they play on anime, what exactly is that type of music? you know, the music in the backround. it's wordless music but it's not techno(at least some) is it? (someone told me that if the music is wordless then that make it techno, is that true?)

No, if music is wordless, it is not automatically techno. It's usually called background music. Another name you can give wordless music is instrumental. Instrumental music still has the genres like regular music though.

Yes, littlegreenwolf-sama is correct. For the most part, any music you here in the background of a show can generally be called "background" or "instrumental" music, as it plays in the background or is composed of just instruments.
Now, you can categorize it into "techno" depending on how the music is composed or by how it sounds. For instance, I would say the PS2 game Shinobi is techno. It has a lot of synthesized sounds, has a fast beat, and since I know what techno sounds like, I can just easily listen to it and tell the difference.
On the other hand, depending on what styles you are familiar with, you might be able to categorize other genres as well. For instance, Inu-Yasha and Gundam SEED use a lot of live orchestrated instruments, I guess you could call it "classical" since they give off that kind of symphonic sound.
Or, you could say the dub for Dragon Ball Z is rock/heavy metal (not really sure which one it is.) For the most part though, I think it's safe just call any of it "background" or "instrumental" music. Hope this helps!

Most anime music with words in the songs would be considered pop or J-Pop if the words are Japanese. But these to could also change depending on which song you are listening to. They may go into a different categories such as rock. But I can't think of any of the top of my head.

still background music. It could be a themesong and whatnot, if it's in the anime itself, it's usually in the "background" of the anime. So umm... yeah... I won't bother trying to explain stuff I don't know how to explain anymore...

Yes.
Just about all music, whether there are words or not, that comes from an anime can be called "anime music."
The ones with words would be VOCAL, and the ones with just instruments can be called BACKGROUND (or INSTRUMENTAL) music. It doesn't matter which one you call it.
Just remember, there are 2 basic kinds; VOCAL and INSTRUMENTAL.
Don't worry about the whole J-Pop thing. I think that's mainly for just identifying Japanese music in general that may or may not have anime relations.
Hope that helps!
