Not bad. But the manga is much better.

it looks kind of like tenchi muyo with all the girls and stuff. I think thats why it looks so appealing to me.

Well it depends. Do you prefer subs or dubs? Because I would recommend Love Hina, if not for the unfortunate catastrophy that is the dub.

The series is OK, but it seems to repeat itself a lot in the aspect of one guy living with a whole bunch of girls and being totally in love with just one of them.

Tenchi seemed to be more fun, only because of the extraterestrial and not-so-normal factors. Love Hina is pretty down to earth with a lot of the jokes being dependent on making fun of other characters.

I'd say try and rent the first DVD and see if you like it. Again, I hope you're very tolerant or just uncaring for bad voice acting because this is one of my worst. I'd say it's worth a look, at least.

Love Hina is creepy. And not in a good way.

Yeah, if you really don't like the dub, watch the sub. Personally, I loved whenever Motoko would scream "Keitaro!" in the dub. and jfrog, a guy with a Spider Jerusalem avatar is calling Love Hina creepy? I personally didn't see anything creepy about it, even if you hate romantic comedies, I still don't see how the word creepy works in there. I liked Tenchi as well, so you'll probably like Love Hina too. The manga is better then the anime, but only because there's so much more manga.

Transmetropolitan is wrong in a good way, but to me Love Hina just seems like glorified softcore pornography featuring underage characters. Creepy.

I checked out the first 12 eps and they were pretty good. I think it's funny, but I can only take the same joke of Keitaro falling on top of a girl and getting smacked so many times.

I really liked Love Hina. It was good, good story and characters. Though the last ova is disspointing...the manga is great, and makes up for it. The manga is much better then the anime. But the anime is great. It is one of the animes i'd highly recommend friends. It's not to heavy or anything. Just nice and light, and funny. And I've watched the sub and dub. I recommend the sub because there are small jokes and stuff the dub didn't translate. But good either way.

Okay, my full opinion on Love Hina (you guys know I never miss a chance to make this rant).

Love Hina is single handedly responsible for the incredible downturn in the quality of characters and creativity in harem genre anime. It's obscene levels of success contrast wildly with its poor and tiring storyline and mediocre artwork. Whereas classic harem anime such as Urasei Yatsura, Tenchi Muyo, and Ah! My Goddess approached romantic comedy with a sense of flair and individuality, presenting fully developed characters with their own deeper motivations and mental makeups, Love Hina served only to prove that you only need large breasts and vague stereotypes to sell a series.

It's tripe. Tripe that is taken way too seriously for its own good. The most unfortunate thing is that similar series that have come after it quickly fall into its blueprint. The initially excellent Ai Yori Aoshi is a perfect example of how the Love Hina blueprint can quickly ruin what would otherwise be an excellently written and conceived story.

If you truly want to watch a worthwhile harem anime, the basic rule of thumb is that 1992 was the best year. The Tenchi Muyo OAV's and the Ah! My Goddess OAV's were released by AIC in 1992, and they remain the unmatched standard of excellence in harem anime.

Agreed. The next person that I hear say that Love Hina's better then then Tenchi Muyo, I would like to punch right then and there. It has no plot or if there is one, it's about the size of gnat. There's nothing in that series, just big breasts man. Nothing more, nothing less.

I would have to agree with you 100% percent there. I did enjoy Love Hina *atleast the manga* but it is in no way comparable to the quality of Tenchi and saying so makes anyone who would quite silly I might add. Laughing

And if you plan on purchasing Love Hina Josh, Then I highly suggest not buying the anime. It's poorly done and you'll be flushing your money right down the pooper.

The manga is much better and although the plot for it is a bit shoddy, Where the series truly shines is in it's comedy. Quite a few bits had me in stiches.

I find that to be untrue. I sure didn't and I dont know anyone else who bought the series for it's "large breasts and vague sterotypes" I bought it for it's slapstick comedy and It did quite a good job providing such. And with such a large number of fans, Ken Akumatsu and the Hinata girls must be doing something right. *and it's not fanservice!*

I'm starting to rant so I'll stop there.

In any case, the final decision lies with you Josh, so I hope you do make the right choice. Wink

P.S. If your really looking for some romantic comedy, try some of these.

I liked the Love Hina anime but prefer the manga. The only thing I recommend is to skip Love Hina Again. The magna does a much better job with ending the story.

I'd have to agree with alot of the above posters, the manga is for sure better. I've seen the subbed anime, and it was decent, but i prefer the manga over it. Personally though, i liked tenchi better. But hey.
