...with the given descriptions?
1. The opening theme for the show is a DDR song.
2. It's a movie, but there -is- a TV show associated with it.

That's the problem. The person who told me this just gave me that information. It's supposed to be vague.

A DDR song? Guess that rules out some anime with Para Para Paradise songs in it's begining.

It *almost* would be a few different titles...
Rurouni Kenshin: Sobakasu was done in English as "Freckles", which was then remixed into a DDR song. Kenshin is both a TV series and a Movie. The movie, however, has a different opening than Freckles.
Chibi Maruko-chan: Odoru Ponpokorin is a DDR song that also happens to be a remix of the ending theme.. I don't think this has a movie associated with it, though.
Initial D: Night on Fire was a eurobeat dance tune used here as well as in DDR Disney Mix..

It could also be Lupin.
Initial D has several songs that were thrown onto Para Para Paradise, but that might not be the same thing they were thinking of...

The person added a few more hints:
-There's a song in it that's also in "Wolf's Rain."
-It was made in 1998
-It has NOT been released in the US

Wait, are we playing quiz show here where the person already knows the title and you are using the forum to do the work for you? With "hints" like this, it doesn't seem like the typical - "I remember this series, and it had this and that in it, but I don't remember the title."

Actually, this is the infamous Knights of Fire song mistakenly attributed to Gundam Wing and DDR for some odd reason.
I think AnswerMan/Woman fielded a question on this a while back (forgot which one exactly, can't find it for some reason), but somehow got sidetracked on some other tangent ("Was the song actually in Gundam Wing?" I think.). And I think they also made a factual error about CD's in that answer too as well. Wanted to point that out, but got lazy and didn't e-mail it in.....

This seems fairly accurate.

Guess what? The showing was NOT an anime movie AT ALL. It was a Japanese live-action movie (forgot the name of the title) about a couple of policemen trying to figure out who kidnap thier commissioner. It was rather funny, but I had to leave at the half-way point of the movie since I had webassign due last night. I guess that's why it was so difficult.
