I just finished up the 3rd episode and it has been good so far. Something major happened in that episode and it does seem good. The first two episodes had nice, and alot of action.
Does it carry on like that through the series? do you like it? Do you think i should continue with the series? {MODERATOR EDIT: Fixed the title. 月詠 (tsukuyomi) is correct, not "tsukiyomi", even though "tsuki" = moon. 月夜見の尊 (tsukuyomi no mikoto) is a proper name, the name of the (male) moon god. In the anime title, they've written it 月詠, a female form of the name, for obvious reasons. -- abunai} |

If you want to continue the series, you go right on ahead. Don't let a bunch of words on a screen tell you what to do.

It depends on what you like. Moonphase has an unusual go stop pacing. For example as you pointed out the first 2 episodes are filled with action but that doesn’t happen again until episode 8. Until then you get almost fights that get interrupted. The pacing slows down dramatically for long stretches and it starts to feel more like a slice of life show. I still love the show a lot even though I was disappointed in the execution of the ending. The show seemed to lose focus in the second half. As long as you keep in mind this is the story of how a lonely vampire girl figures out the meaning of friends, family and love and not a let’s save the world from some evil dude show you wont be disappointed. If you are looking for an action packed series this is not it. It does have action but that is not the point of the show. |

Moon Phase is quirky. It jumps back and forth between a serious, brooding, gothic atmosphere; action scenes in dark places; and goofy cuteness. If you enjoyed both the third episode and the previous two, you'll probably enjoy any given episode in the series.

Moonphase is worth watching, yeah, I'd say. I enjoyed the second half of the show a lot more though and found the first half pretty boring and tedious to get through.
It's not a series I liked enough to buy though. I'd rent it instead. |

The recently-released Moonphase boxset is pretty cheap though so I think that might be a good buy. I don't think it comes with the cards though.
I was thinking of buying the Black Cat boxset actually. How is Black Cat, is it a good show? I hate cats in case it matters. Did the original Black Cat releases come with cards or anything that is not in the boxset? |

I haven't seen the anime(i don't think it comes with anything), but i super super super highly reccomend the manga if you do like the anime. You can visit its site http://www.funimation.com/blackcat. I love the manga. And if you don't know about the apostles of the stars, then here's an explenation. there a group of people(there leader-creed diskenth, train hates him for reasons that may be spoilish, i forget) who want to start a revolution. Now think the anime just focuses on fights with the apostles of the stars but i haven't seen it so I'm not sure. But the manga tells a lot more and expands on the main plot. So if you like the anime check out the manga.

Black Cat was pretty good in my opinion. It's not great but it isn't bad either. It's one of those cases where for me I've seen it both subbed first and dubbed and prefer the dub which I think makes it come accross much better. I hear a lot fans of manga don't like the anime adaptation though. |

I just finished watching it myself and really liked it. I wish I had bought it earlier when I was thinking about it like a year or so ago.
It's got a good mix of humor and serious moments, but is a bit on the zany side and never minds mixing the two, which might annoy some. While the climax of the series could have been much better, I thought it was reasonable, and the ending wasn't something that I dreaded afterward. If a second season were to come out at some point I'd be up for it. |

It's kind of random that Black Cat was mentioned in this thread... but yes first. Moonphase is definatley worth continuing, there will points of humor, excitement, and all of the above. It'll be a slow train ride, but you'll be happy when you reach the end.
Thats exaclty what i was thinking when i first saw the title of the show... i thought, hmm, anything to do with cats, is the main point about cats? How can one make a show about Cats? ... Well it's deifnatly worth buyin' if you like action and those super cool assisian type animes you know. That's all i'll tell 'ya since, i dont' wanna ruin anything. But it's interesting as well, it also has it's funny moments, interesting moments, action packed moments, all of the above. Hell... if you have enough money pal, buy 'em both... Anyways back to the topic at hand here... Yeah, You should really consider finishing MoonPhase, i can't see any idea why one would want to stop at the point you're at. From what i can remember, that's just where the show gets interesting. If you've liked it up 'till now buddy, you'll continue liking it unless you see something in it that i didn't, which very well may occur. I like to think of myself as one who notices all the elemtents of anime, however i regret to inform myself, that it is clearly not the case. That's what i've come to learn upon my arrival at these forums... hmm, interesting reflection about myself i'd say. Anywho yeah. -Elfen12- wooops, didn't realize this thread is as old as it is, sorry |
