Try DC; 61 volumes, 15 years of manga and still going strong..

I don't think even these volumes can outdo Kochikame, which currently has 158 volumes under its belt.

Not necessarily, there's the boxerIppo who has been fighting in boxing matches since 1989 and 82 volumes to date. This series could also possibly make it past the triple digit volume mark.

Though Kochi Kame has 10 more volumes, Golgo 13 has been serialized for 7 years longer.

I can fit all 260 volumes of manga I own on my one. Its full now though. I may have to buy another.

Man, if Negima is losing to Hayate, then that probably means Akamatsu's 15 minutes are nearly gone.

Yeah, because being the #2 best seller is such a bad spot to be. Rolling Eyes And what's the significance of losing to Hayate in particular?

I'd imagine the significance is that fans are getting tired of moe and fan-service, and want series which make them laugh again. And these ranks probably do matter to Japanese publishers.
