Try DC; 61 volumes, 15 years of manga and still going strong..

I don't think even these volumes can outdo Kochikame, which currently has 158 volumes under its belt.

158?! Wow, imagine the amount of bookcases you'd need for all the volumes...

Not necessarily, there's the boxerIppo who has been fighting in boxing matches since 1989 and 82 volumes to date. This series could also possibly make it past the triple digit volume mark.

Though Kochi Kame has 10 more volumes, Golgo 13 has been serialized for 7 years longer.

Man, if Negima is losing to Hayate, then that probably means Akamatsu's 15 minutes are nearly gone.

Yeah, because being the #2 best seller is such a bad spot to be. And what's the significance of losing to Hayate in particular?

I'd imagine the significance is that fans are getting tired of moe and fan-service, and want series which make them laugh again. And these ranks probably do matter to Japanese publishers.

Sorry, I meant to answer that as Just One. I only need one bookcase for way more than 158 volumes xD;
