That one should be easy to adapt.

[perks up some] Masi Oka? I loved him as Max in "Hawaii 5-0", but didn't the live-action "Death Note" not do well? Either way, I wanna at least keep an eye on this.

Multi: Dunno about 'well', since it was never in theaters, unlike Knights of the Zodiac. But it probably got the right metrics on Netflix.

Did not see this one coming, but I agree that this could actually be feasible to do in LA.
Will be very curious to see what the casting looks like and how much of the story they plan to adapt. I was a big fan of both the anime and the manga (I may still have a couple of Claymore wall scrolls hanging in one of my hallways), so I'll definitely check it out.

Interesting. I don't have high hopes for it being good given the overall record of live action adaptations of anime/manga properties, but I'd definitely at least check it out.

Same, it's been many years since I last watched Claymore, but the news of this getting a live-action adaptation is something I didn't expect to see. This is now getting my attention.

Uh, why not? You do realize that Japan is also doing live-action adaptation of anime/manga too, do you condemn Japan for doing live-action adaptation. If you don't, then I don't know how to react to something like that.

No, it isn't. It's just a medium, it isn't superior or inferior to another medium. Some stories might lend themselves more to one than the other, but that's a different subject altogether. There are horrible live action adaptations, and there are horrible anime adaptations. Likewise, there are fantastic anime adaptations and live action adaptations.

A TV series from CBS/Paramount, a company that has virtually no ties to Japanese anything. They are the last people I would expect to want this.

On one hand, no adaptation makes the original manga and anime go away.
On the other hand, yes, actually. Just because a live action version is made by Japan for Japanese audiences doesn't guarantee it's going to be a good adaptation. It often loses as much nuance there as it does in a Western adaptation (or adds an insane plot twist like surprise incest). For every live action Detroit Metal City, we have an L: Change the World.
The SnK/Attack on Titan live action and FMA live action are infamously bad. I've only heard bad things about the Higurashi and School Days adaptations.
I used to watch every one I could get my hands on back in the mid-2000s and off the top of my head, I can remember the Rurouni Kenshin movies (before the author was arrested for CESM), Bleach, Japanese Death Note series, Kagen no Tsuki/ Last Quarter, Goth, the Nana movies) were "Okay" at best, mediocre at worst.
Then there's brilliant outliers like Phoenix Wright, Fly Me to Saitama, and the aforementioned Detroit Metal City but those are absurdist comedies that the directors leaned into.
I'd say Gantz was pretty good but I also stopped reading the manga over 20 years ago and never watched the anime so I'm not sure I'm a fair judge.
Live action adaptations of manga and anime are as difficult as live action adaptations of Western comics: very challenging to do well.
A season 2 of the anime, or a complete reboot would be so much simpler.
But you know what, I'll still give it a shot, unless they really screw up development, casting, something.
Also I do not look forward to the challenge faced by leaving everyone white (which is boring) vs casting people that don't have a paper-colored skin because "Hurr durr DEI woke ruining muh grimdark fantasy manga."
