So to my knowledge (I've been playing these games since Rorona), the first time they used the open world format was Atelier Firis. Which is my second favorite game in the series with Escha and Logy being my all time favorite.
I've been looking forward to Yumia for a while and I hope it maintains the audience that was brought in with the Ryza games. I will say that I am not a fan of them sticking with real time combat as I have loved the past games that used it pure turn based and I always found the battles in the Ryza games to be not as polished as any of the previous series combat systems. My fave combat system was the one in Shallie as I felt it was the most refined in the entire franchise. |
