I only see Variable Geo getting a censored American release, and I don’t think fans would care much for that, lol.

When I heard the news about Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, my first reaction and I thought to myself at the time when the news came out "why did they need to re-release Ninja Gaiden 2 when you already have Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 which is based on the original Ninja Gaiden 2 on Xbox 360?" This was before I watched the trailer and realize this is a full-on Unreal Engine remake, and I also found out that Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is not exactly a full-on remake of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, nor the original Ninja Gaiden 2 that was on the 360. So I made a mistake this was not a cash grab (which I first thought it was), but now it's taking the best of 360's Ninja Gaiden 2 and some of the best of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and remaking it to have the best of both worlds.

More or less, but the simpler answer is "Because Dino Crisis 3 never had a native PC port before". GOG, by their own admission, does not do any actual porting themselves. At best they effectively mod older PC games so that they can work on modern PCs with some modern benefits, like adding in USB controller support & higher resolutions, and they've stated that they don't rely on console emulation. Therefore, there's literally no way GOG can get Dino Crisis 3 (or Dino Stalker, the PS2 Gun Survivor spin-off for Dino Crisis that's actually a direct, if loose, sequel to DC2) re-released, barring Capcom making a native PC port themselves. This also ties into the GOG Dreamlist a bit, as GOG's database for the Dreamlist is way too open & allowing people to request games that don't already have a native PC version, like Code: Veronica. It gives the idea that GOG can, somehow, port over something like C:V themselves, when that's not in their wheelhouse at all. Sure, part of the Dreamlist's intention is to show companies what titles people would like to see be re-released on PC, ideally via GOG, but if it's something that doesn't already have a prior PC version that GOG can work with, then it's down to the publisher itself to make a PC port... and then that publisher could just decide to go with Steam instead, since Steam has a larger userbase anyway. I just feel like GOG should have made sure that their Dreamlist database only included titles with prior native PC ports, because then they could actually say "Hey, people really want this game, and we're the people who can make it happen, so let us handle it". |

Isn't that pretty standard at this point? That's the main reason I don't usually bother with re-releases of old games like remakes or collections. They always seem to be censored and missing stuff. I'd rather with playing the original version with all the bells and whistles. Ninja Gaiden 2's remaster/remake has been fun to see though. I've seen so many streamers fail at the game because they keep trying to play it like Dark Souls. The advent of Souls-like games really affected how people play hack and slash games Also fun seeing some of the reactions to the designs for the female characters in the modern age of gaming. |

You mean like how Sega censored out the maps from Phantasy Star and censored out the options to tailor the difficulty to your liking, the Yggdra Union Steam port censoring out further difficulty options, or the Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne remaster censoring out a new Raidou Kuzunoha route? Oh wait, those weren't censored, those were ADDED in the remasters. You need to not make sweeping arguments like these when in truth you're just angry about vagina bones. Because we will prove you wrong every time. If you don't like remasters, fine, but don't make boneheaded arguments and don't be intellectually dishonest about it. And stop beating the word "censorship", that horse died ages ago. Let that be the last of this stupid topic in this thread. |

No new infinitely superior MMO needs to release at the same time---The crowd that plays MMOs just doesn't normally abandon their already cozy WoW/FF14/ESO/GW2 homes that they already sunk infinite hours and commitment into. There's a reason almost every "bestest/top/super duper amazing big mmo" lists all have the same culprits. They've been in the market for long enough to have a big following, and MMOs are, imo, like rich people and money---the more players you have, the more will be attracted to you. A big thing with MMOs are, well, the 'massively online' and socializing part of it, even if there are plenty of people who play solo. |

Eh, to be honest, considering Itagaki had a lot of input on Ninja Gaiden II Black despite having an extremely acrimonious split with Tecmo over unpaid bonuses (which he won because the president was caught on tape) I don't think he minds Platinum doing a work split with Team Ninja. Especially since Kamiya isn't there anymore. And it's not like Kamiya has any less of a gigantic ego either; that dude is still convinced minigames everyone hates in his titles are fun.
Anyway, I'm not surprised that Ninja Gaiden is being brought back with DMCV being the biggest stylish action title ever. In fact, it's no coincidence that gameplay style is returning in the wake of RPGs like Elden Ring. It was like how Devil May Cry came about after survival horror and RPGs were the big money spinners so when it came out it basically forced us to relearn twitch reflexes in a trial by fire (even if the camera didn't help any, which Ninja Gaiden was especially bad at). Anyone, good to see it's as splaterrifice as ever. I also find it funny how Ryu gets not just one by TWO analogues of Nero with Yakumo and Kenji -Skies of Arcadia: This had better be for the Gamecube version. We need more pirate games in general -Dino Crisis: Neat to see as Dino Crisis is a fascinating little curiosity...mostly because it runs out of steam really fast and quickly just becomes a lot of cypher puzzles and hunting for parts to make a device. Happens with a lot of tech demo games; neat concept, but ultimately thin and doesn't have enough to last. Funnily enough, I found the sequel to be better as it went full gonzo and had tons of enemy variety with fun weapons. And to think it was directed by Shu Takumi, the creator of Ace Attorney. |

I'd love to see a new release of something relating to Skies of Arcadia, but I imagine it's just a normal renewal and not pointing to anything, so I won't hold my breath.
I think a new release of the soundtrack was announced, so it may also be timed with that. |

Except replace the music with the Dreamcast version. Though honestly, while a remake would be fine after all this time, I'd prefer a proper sequel (and hope dearly the sequel doesn't sour BOTH games...). |

Yeah, and if Harada's anecdotes about Itagaki are any indicator, his "beef" with Kamiya/Platinum was likely all hot gas anyway; a means for him to publicly stoke flames to create drama around petty he-said/she-said's while secretly thinking this other person is his mentor. (In which case, he ought to have told Kamiya.) Poor Harada, people keep trying to set up dumb face/heel shticks with the guy.
A sequel is a neat idea, but I'm not sure there's much new ground to cover after you've explored the entire globe. And the bigger issue is that Rieko Kodama is no longer with us. From what I can tell, Overworks doesn't exist anymore (although many of its surviving members still work at Sega). But I'm not sure how much I'd trust a new Arcadia game without her at the helm in some capacity. "Phoenix Rie" was great at tinging the act of exploration in her worlds with some kind of mood, be it the lingering isolation and despair of Phantasy Star II or the adventurous tone of Skies of Arcadia. |

It wasn't even really a beef, it was mostly people asking him what he thought of Kamiya's various remarks. Like in an EGM interview where, I think it was James Mielke, asking him what he thought of Kamiya talking smack about other action games and I could practically see Itagaki slap his forehead before saying "What is he going on about? Has he been asleep the past few years?" before talking about Dragon Quest IX. Dude was a master of showmanship |

Hey huh, just in case if anyone wanted to know the difference between Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and other version of Ninja Gaiden 2. Team Ninja's official website has a chart comparing the version (I'll also link the Reddit in case that website remove it in the near future). Hope this help anyone on ANN that are on the fence about buying even if you owned the the Master Collection on your current gen console.

I remember that interview; Kamiya had said something along the lines of action games not having innovated at all. I also think that was the interview where Itagaki said that the most dangerous part of a woman was her mouth...
Thank you for sharing this! I personally don't have the energy for tense action games like NG, but it's definitely a technical marvel that people should experience. Even if you're not good at it, it's worth looking into. |

At least not the Switch version since Nintendo is outright banning spicy Japanese games lately from the Switch so it'll probably stay in Japan. I think the count is up to 17 games that have been censored or banned from the west on Switch recently. A potential Steam version could be modded to be uncensored if it is censored like all the other remasters that were censored but I guess we'll see. |
