Agreed, I was not as into Da Capo as I was into some other of the same time period. However it was a major player in shaping the direction on VNs and where the industry as a whole was heading. I have mixed feelings on revisions and changing art design as it is fundamentally altering what made the original so good.

Holy crud, remaking the original Da Capo!?

Honestly I feel like I'm less bothered by that than by recasting everybody. I mean, I know the original anime used new seiyuu in the first place but I can't imagine anyone other than Yui Horie as Kotori. And I love Kana Ichinose. But I guess it's in line with the ToHeart remake.

Also what about Suginami? I can't see anyone other than Daisuke Kishio voicing him.

I think the main difference between Kishio's Suginami and all the other characters whose voices are confirmed to be different here is... Outside of the R18 version of the very first game and its spinoffs, Kishio has always been Suginami. In everything. He appears under pseudonyms in the R18 titles but like, his voice is unmistakeable. And Suginami, unlike Nemu, Sakura and Kotori, is in every Da Capo title (Sakura shows up in some capacity in almost all of them too but I can at the very least confirm that she is nowhere in D.C.4 Fortunate Departures and I haven't seen her in 5 though I haven't finished that so for all I know she might still defy all logic to show up somehow). I feel like Circus has long since realized that you can't recast Suginami. Somehow, the comic relief male friend character has become more of a fixture in this romance series than any of the heroines.
