...Any reason they would make this ad ten years after the show aired? Confused

I'd say this scene stood the test of time because of the downright incredible VA performance.

A shame the anime remained a single-season ad for the light novels though. It was one of those cases where the adaptation was vastly superior to the original. Gave up on the novels after one and a half volumes, despite being quite interested in where the story was going.

Because everyone still remembers it like it was yesterday I suppose. I was just thinking about this after watching the last episode of Re:Zero.

Also, this video is really funny. Watch it on YouTube with captions and auto translate. The part about the heat levels cracked me up.

I’ve never watched this anime, but I have seen this particular scene clipped on YouTube, and the voice actress is incredible in it. Everyone who has seen this show agrees that this is the best scene in the series.

A lot of people also seem to agree at it’s the only good scene in a otherwise bland series.

I've forgotten a lot about this mid anime, the names of these people (as if I could pronounce them then), what they did, and if they're even alive at the end even though it was just a light novel promotion for a romcom so they obviously did. But I still vividly remember that scene. It really stuck with me, made me rethink how I view anime in relation to other people.

The English voice for the character was also forgettable, yet she tried her best to match the quality of this scene and almost reached that same bar.

I also recall seeing a Mako cameo.

Because it's a legendary scene. Iconic. Plus, 10 years later, Saori Hayami is still super active and one of the best in the biz.

Let alone the fact that Nissin pick Hayamin voicing stuff for their promotional ads for years.

i laughed way too hard on this ad, fair play to Nissin.

Like most people, we desperately need a season 2. I'll put this show and new season of haruhi on the 'list of things i'll pay for if i win the lottery' list

Yes an amazing scene.

This is not really mentioned in the ad but I believe there is also some irony in the product name. It's kind of a triple entendre. First the word "don" exists in the type of noodle うどん which is a thicker type of noodle. Secondly "don" means 丼 or bowl such as chirashidon and katsudon. Thirdly "don" in どん兵衛 refers to the Chinese word for east, which I think suggests how this Nissin product retains a more traditional Chinese flavor rather than the typical taste ramen evolved into it's uniquely Japanese style.

Incidentally the D in my name is for don, and because the capital letter looks like a bowl.
