The way Viz Media treated the Full Moon anime was awful, I’m glad someone rescued it.

Unless they want to run a big Kickstarter or there was some obscure alternate dub, I don't think a re-dub is realistic. That said ... https://lostmediawiki.com/Full_Moon_o_Sagashite_(lost_unreleased_English_dub_episodes_of_anime_series;_existence_unconfirmed;_2006-2009) |

Cool to see Time of Eve. I have the Kickstarter release, but that didn't include the ONA version.

Not personally interested in these titles, but it will be nice to look forward to another company licensing surprises like this. Discotek is the only other company who does anything beyond what's expected nowadays.

Like everyone else here, I'm just as surprised AnimEigo got Full Moon. However, it is an unknown at this point if they'll include the Viz dub that was halfway done through its DVD releases. (Until Viz just abruptly cancelled it due to low sales.)
If they do get the dub included, who knows if its just the ones from the DVD releases, or if by chance, the rest of the episodes as well that didn't get dubbed. Cause all I remember is watching the rest of the episodes subbed on Hulu way back in the day (when it was actually free to watch), since they cancelled the DVD releases at that point, and that they had (I think) the OP/ED credits (and I think the episode names) in English text from the episodes that didn't get dubbed. |

Those credits included dub staff, and there were changes to different staff in those credits at least as far as episode 45 by my notes. Which gives the impression they may have dubbed the whole thing. Will be interesting to see if AnimEigo will be able to include it in their release if it's out there. I'm happy to finally see it licensed again in any case. This will be a definite buy from me. Last edited by EmperorBrandon on Sat Aug 03, 2024 11:34 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I could have sworn that The Dagger of Kamui's Kickstarter was announced during their first AnimEigo Direct about a month or so ago. Still very much looking forward to it. Also looking forward to Bubblegum Crash finally getting its upgraded Blu-Ray release.

AnimEigo has won 2024 with the Full Moon wo Sagashite news. I've been waiting almost 12 years for a complete re-release. It continues to remain one of my all-time favorite anime and even made 18 year old me cry. Been begging Discotek Media for years to get it but they never got it.
Shut up and take my money AnimEigo. As for Time of Eve, nice to see it back in-print and everything is on one SKU this time. I backed the movie Kickstarter 11 years ago, but I never got the ONA version on disc. |

Yes! FMWS was one of my faves that got me into anime in the first place…
Personally, I could take or leave the Viz dub. Always found it a bit flat. |

That Time of Eve release looks really good, having both versions and two short films.

I think people need to have realistic expectations that dubbing is expensive and Animeigo is a tiny business who's releases are almost all entirely funded by Kickstarter and also none of those actors from the Full Moon dub have been in an anime in like 20 years. I'm also pretty sure Animeigo has said several times before they have no plans to make dubs and are mainly focused on media preservation.

Speaking of which, given how one of their first big new titles is a 52 episode long shoujo series, I wonder if they're going to go after Mermaid Melody where like the entire thing was dubbed but never released. animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=5433563#5433563 |
