A bit ironic that I always felt Fuuka sounded a bit flat with the line delivery in the original PS2 games, and now her new VA is hitting the lines spot-on while Mitsuru and Junpei sound almost-okay.... but when they hit a bad inflection on a word it really feels cringey.
Everyone sounds close enough so far that I imagine people that have never experienced the originals are going to find this perfectly acceptable, but for me, this is going to be the first time I likely experience (watch on YT?) the P3 story with the JP track & subs on.
I've already gone through P3 a ton of times across multiple versions over the years, and due to the weird alterations to Kotone's Social Links in Portable and then the lack of including FES and Kotone at all in this version.... well I'm definitely not paying the insane asking price on this. It feels like this, one of my favorite games I experienced on the PS2, is handing me a checklist of everything I don't want or wasn't asking for in a remake to the point that I'm really having trouble coming up with counters to get myself excited for it again.

I'm in the same boat. And, especially after how they treated Persona 5, I'm very reticent to dive into any Persona game day 1.

Suzie Yeung as Fuuka is probably the best thing to come out of the redub.

Hell yes. I love Suzie's VA work.

Which wasn’t all that different from how they treated 4 and 3?
If we’re speaking overexposure.

A lot of this sounds overly critical and nitpicky for the sake of it. Mitsuru and Junpei sound great, so does the rest of the cast. Akihiko is the only one I'm iffy on, but I'm absolutely willing to give him a shot. I played the original game, and I still really like the new cast. You'd have to nitpick specific parts of certain lines to complain about the quality of the voice work, and at that point, why?
You didn't want expanded characterization for Strega, male bonding episodes with Makoto, massively updated graphical style, gameplay additions in Tartarus exploration and combat itself, and more? I don't care about the answer or the female protagonist, so this is everything I could've wanted out of a remake and I'm thrilled to play my favorite persona game again with a fresh coat of paint and new additions.

It's somewhat ironic that I always found Fuuka's line delivery a bit flat in the original PS2 games, and now her new VA nails it. As someone exploring online casinos, the review of zippay online casino as a payment method was a lifesaver. Now, I feel confident recommending this platform to others seeking reliable insights into casino payments. This comprehensive review of PayPal is exactly what I needed as I navigate the online gaming landscape. Looking forward to more insightful content from your review platform!

I totally get where you're coming from. Fuuka's new VA really surprised me in a good way, while Mitsuru and Junpei have moments that just feel... off. It’s not a dealbreaker, but when they hit a weird inflection, it’s super noticeable. For newcomers, this dub is probably fine, but as someone who's played P3 so many times, I might finally switch to the JP track for a fresh experience. Between the high price, the missing FES content, and no Kotone, it’s hard to justify picking this up when it feels like a list of things I didn’t want from a remake.
