A Girl and her Guard Dog (dropped after 3ep) B-Project Captain Tsubasa 2 Ensemble Stars Hypnosis Mic 2 Disgraced Noble Lady naughtiness (dropped after 2 eps) Kawagoe Boys Sing MF Ghost Paradox Live Ron Kamonohashi Yuzuki Family's 4 sons Waiting on the the dubs for Apothecary Diaries, 100 Girlfriends and Heavens Official's Blessing 2. Once those begin, plus 5 shows from last season, I'll be watching 53 shows. No idea if ill be able to keep that up for 2 more months |

Whoa, that's an impressive number, getchman! I'm only dealing with 25 titles and I've already fallen behind schedule. Mind you, that's only because I was out of town for a week a little while back. I hope to be caught up by the end of this weekend, but we'll see. Basketball season has started again and that cuts into my anime viewing time.

Tenchi Muyo! GXP Paradise Starting (OVA) Which just finished... and has huge hurdles to overcome to completely understand... Full of characters not in the previous GXP anime, a sequel to novels that haven't been finished and a prequel to other novels that the makers obviously want to adapt but might not have a company willing to commit to. ...but there are now fan translations to almost everything now- if you want to figure it out. And a helpful wiki (that I help write) |

I'm currently in the high-20s for titles that I am trying to follow, but that's not sustainable for me during the school year. A couple are already starting to fall by the wayside and I expect a few more to go eventually, so I will probably settle around 20. Certain keepers include the following:

So... what was dropped?
in my case, a good bit was dropped or not started as planned. Monday completely fell off - (The) Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy (not my type of horny- possibly oversaturated on this type of show) - Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deductions (Too many little things I didn't like) - Stardust Telepath (just never really got started - MC seemed too stupid to breathe) - Pluto (not dropped, just haven't given myself the time) - Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (not dropped, just haven't given myself the time) - Undead Unluck (not dropped, just haven't given myself the time, only thing on Hulu) - (The) Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess (premise couldn't keep me interested) Somehow, kept watching: - I'm Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness (The Elf author almost killed it) - Protocol: Rain (so "mid"- the sociopath "antagonist" is sooo stupid, I guess I just wanted to watch some underdogs succeed at their sucky, sucky, game) - (The) Family Circumstances of the Irregular Witch (70% boring, but occasionally really funny- that insomniac Sandman was gold) |

According to an earlier post of mine, I started off Fall 2023 with a total of 25 titles: 22 new ones and 3 carrying over from the summer. In the end, I whittled that total down to 12 titles. In a way, it was really only 11 because one of the titles was After-School Hanako-kun which only had four episodes. Here was the final line-up:
Migi & Dali Dead Mount Death Play 2 (The) Ancient Magus' Bride 3 Dr. Stone: New World 4 Jujutsu Kaisen 2 Under Ninja Goblin Slayer II Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (The) Apothecary Diaries Shangri-La Frontier Dark Gathering After-School Hanako-kun Of those, I probably should have ditched Migi & Dali, Death Mount and Dark Gathering. I will watch all three to completion (they each only have 1 episode left) but I can't say I enjoyed them as much as the others on the list. Of those, Under Ninja, Frieren and The Apothecary Diaries were the absolute stand-outs, with Shangri-La Frontier not too far behind. The sequels were pretty dependable although JJK 2 did try my patience at times. I nibbled at some Netflix offerings that came out in the Fall but since I haven't advanced very far in any of them, nor is it clear I will actually finish them, I'm leaving them off the list. Here's a top-line preview of my Winter 2024 list: I've got 25 titles slated for a try out. How many will survive??? Stay tuned. |

I watched these shows all the way through week after week, from most enjoyed to least enjoyed.
Goblin Slayer SpyXFamily Eminence in Shadow A Returner's Magic Should be Special My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S Rank Rising of the Shield Hero 3 Berserk of Gluttony MF Ghost Tearmoon Empire That makes 12 dependable regulars if you count Shangri-la Frontier, Frieren, And Apothecary Diaries, all of which were gold standard but aren't over yet. I watched these series but not week to week. I started one of them late, for example, and only finished two of them today. That said, I liked some of them better than the shows I watched regularly, and some of them I barely managed to hang on and finish. The Yuzuki Family Jiujitsu Kaisen (unexpectedly, I enjoyed the part I thought I would like the least, best - the past arc - and found the present part uneven) The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent Migi and Dali Overtake Playthrough of a Middle Aged Dude's MMORPG yada yada I'll probably finish Faraway Paladin in the next day or two. Everything else I either dropped midway, or dropped before the first three episodes, or dropped before the end of the first episode, or never tried because it was a sequel to a show I'd already given up on or just didn't see a point. |
