I don't know if I should be happy because Noriyuki Abe, or sad because of Deen.

HOLY ****!!! This is big news.
I mean, I always thought that this manga had anime potential. Now it will all depend on execution.
On a side note, I wish they did a Lady Snowblood adaptaion.

Does it mean the anime adaptation of What Did You Eat Yesterday? is actually possible?

Deen isn´t the best studio but whatever. Finally. I almost gave up hope. The manga is Shoujo btw and not Josei or Seinen. Crazy, eh? But Josei works are niche AF and rarely get adapted to more than a low-budget live-action drama or film with little market appeal outside of Japan so a male demographic or sneaking yourself into a teen girl´s magazine is the best way to get seen. The 2022 live-action announcement only got 1 comment on this site for example and a respectable writer was on scripting duty there.

Wow! Always found this series mildly intriguing ever since I read it in my local library uh... 10 years ago (?!). Unfortunately, I never knew what happened to the rest of the story since the shelves only carried a few volumes. glad to know I'll get a chance to see it in anime format.

Great! I hope for 24-26 episodes to adapt ALL the manga! It would be awesome!

I am still optimistic though even though it is Deen. But I have never been a big fan of Miyano, so as much as I am excited for the adaptation, I think I will just have to take what they give.

Someone has tapped into my inner most dreams and made them come true. I am so happy, I can't stop smiling. I've wished for this ever since I read the manga, but never thought it would happen.

I hope so! the jdrama was great, but they skipped so many things or changed so much, I'd love to see a more true to form adaptation. the manga has so much material now too

Deen, for all its faults, made magic with Rakugo, so there's hope for this, being another dramatic period piece

Me, three. I’m a big fan, it’s such a lovely series. Heartfelt and adult—a rare combo, I find.
I should add that I’m looking forward to Ooku, too. Read a couple volumes way back when, and was impressed.
