Good to know the adaptation is good. Bad to know it was stuck in Disney jail for a lengthy amount of time. Since Disney did not want me to watch the show subbed when it was first released, I shall reciprocate by waiting until the show is available on a non-Disney platform before I consider watching it. If I must wait wait 5 or 10 years, so be it.

I just wished this and Komi didn't air back to back, so that the production for both would've ended up smoother.

It's a shame this was locked in jail; it was really enjoyable to watch week-to-week, especially with the amount of cliffhangers it throws at you. Reading reviews each week would have been really nice for a series like this. It's too bad.

I remember going to this anime completely blind and thought it was some sort drama about grief. The opening vid doesn't show you anything about the actual series. However, when reaching the last minutes of the first episode I was suprised by the sudden appearance of gore and horror. It felt like a zombie movie but with zombies who made no noises at all, which also might produce a feeling of horror to the audience.
If I had a complain it would be how in the second half, the action felt a bit overthetop similar to how Resident Evil became kinda ridiculous the more times Leon appeared. Even the openings went from hints to the character packing fire. |

Disney fumbled this one badly, I had to sail the seven seas to watch this and I’m sure by now most people who wanted to watch it did the same.

Disney's anime strategy seems even worse than Netflix's: Put shows in release jail then quietly dump them on Hulu without telling anyone. Except that most of the world doesn't have Hulu, so in those places the show ends up on Disney Plus. Which leads to news articles saying the show will appear on Disney Plus, so American viewers end up looking for it on the wrong streaming service and thus never see it.
On top of that, Disney decides to release the show at the start of the new anime season, right when it will be least likely to get individual attention, even though the series ended in September. Just dropping the ball every way they can. |

And what's worse than this show being stuck in Disney jail is that the English dub is TERRIBLE. Going from watching the Chainsaw Man Dub to watching THIS in English is like total whiplash, and not the good kind. Dubs this bad DO NOT FLY in 2023, Disney.

Haven't had a chance to hear the English dub yet, so I can't comment on that, but I had a similarly high opinion of this one to what Kim did, and for similar reasons; the only thing I'll add is that the musical score is also pretty strong. It was my #6 title for 2022.
And yeah, Disney dropped the ball on this one big-time. It's good enough and accessible enough that it could have been a sizable cross-over hit if given any proper kind of access and promotion. Have to wonder if they didn't realize what they were getting and didn't know what to do with it once they had it. |

You know the fact that they give their anime’s very little promotion and just shadow drop them tells me Disney really doesn’t care for anime and it’s just a cash grab for them to get more subscribers. It sucks because what is the point of getting all these big licenses if you’ll just treat it as an afterthought. |

It's a crime that no one got to see Summer Time Rendering. That show was so damn good. The only major complaint i had was the ending, but other than that it was a fantastic show.
Even though it's cheesy, i do respect that the fanservice was used in a way that actually advanced the plot. I already watched this on the seven seas. Disney refusing to release it this long was disgusting.
I loved the first half of the series when it was a horror/mystery, but it lost a lot of steam in the second half when it seemed to rush through the story and become an action show |

That was great anime adaptation of pretty good manga with good mistery/thriller plot and likable characters. Pity it was in Disney jail - like others, I just resorted to high seas. I would be very grateful if someone made a TWIA of this series, maybe it would help people to notice it and watch it legally, since it's a shame if it went underhyped.
We rarely get anime with nice, suspenseful story and likeable cast. |

Reallllly disliked the 2nd OP for that reason; it's like "Not really any mystery anymore so now it's Shonen-Shoot'em up". I went from watching the first OP and ED all the way through, every episode, to skipping the 2nd ones almost every time. Real different tone than what the first half was setting up. The "heroes make a counterattack only for the villains to trump them with another new power" trope got really stale, and as I'm mulling over this post, I'm realizing that a lot of the reveals ended up being let-downs? Shide's true goals and the Hishigata family's reasons for following him(while also not asking more about those goals) seemed shallow. It was definitely more interesting that "Ryunosuke" was maybe a persona created by Hizuru's trauma and grief, rather than the reveal that it was actual him sharing her body. Even the eventual effect that everyone kept their memories each time Shinpei looped felt lazy and an easy way out compared to having to get each character up to speed again every loop. So yeah, all that aside, I really did enjoy the series, just maybe more-so in the first half. It had some really great horror moments; the deaths in the first handful of episodes, the surprise ambush early in Ep 13, and Shinpei's off-screen sudden death/loop at the end of the following episode were all standouts. |

I've watched 2 episodes of the Dub and it's fine. Not great and there are some awkwardly delivered lines but it feels like it fits the tone of the show for the most part.

Very few people fall into the venn diagram of [knows this show exists] and [Is willing to wait for legal streaming]. So it's more likely that there's some really passionate Japanese licensor that works for Disney that convinced Disney to shell out some money for content, but wasn't able to get any marketing dollars. |
