That it's being done by the same studio that did "Collection" does not give me confidence. I'm still going to check this out, but slick Uzumaki trailer aside, I feel like Ito's style just does not transfer well to animation. Confused

Why? That series was good. I think this will be as great too. And Ito-san style was depicted carefully in DEEN series, you are wrong. Of course, there are some changes, it is inevitable. And in this adaptation too, for example, I noticed that they changed one man's design from one of the stories. But it is not so important.

For me it looks good. And as I was pleased with the previous adaptation of Ito-san's works I will watch this series with the same excitement because Ito is my favorite manga writer. I like atmosphere, characters and plot in his works so much!!

Maybe it being your favorite mangaka gave you rose-colored glasses while watching? It was one of the cheapest-looking, disappointing series of the season it aired in. If I recall, many of the reviewers here had it in their "worst of the season", too.

Well, it certainly can't be worse than Collection. But since it's by the same outfit, I don't have very high hopes of it being better. At least this won't be the massive disappointment Collection was, since I don't have as high expectations going in. Who knows though, maybe they'll actually put some time and resources into it this time, and do justice to Ito's creepy, uber-detailed art style.

Still have to finish Collection. But I'm afraid to do so, and not for the good reasons. It did have a few stories that worked pretty well, but most were rather disappointing, to put it mildly. The highly detailed manga style just doesn't translate well to anime, especially not if it's seemingly made on the cheap. And having color didn't help either. I do still have some hope for Uzumaki, but this one.....not so much.

No, you are wrong. I like his stories and that series, that is all. It is impossible to show art style as in manga. Overall it is good series.
