I've only read some of the manga, but I appreciated the different angle they went with in regards to healing. They must have toned down Rose a bit for the manga as I didn't really find her as problematic as mentioned here. Less hazing and more just over the top training that you commonly see in various series.
Looking forward to the anime whenever that arrives to revisit this series =) |

'We still don't fully understand what constitutes the "wrong way" to heal'
Redo of a Healer could probably give you a good idea. |

Having read the webnovel for this, all I'll say is that the "wrong way" becomes more obvious later on in future volumes, spoiler[once the action-adventure parts kick in and Usato starts doing the fighting.] I should also point out that even though the original webnovel is still ongoing in Japan and updates fairly frequently in batches of chapter updates, the author curiously decided to end the published light novel version at Vol 12. According to their WN account notes, the final LN content had some rewrites from the WN version (which apparently the LN was faithfully adapting) in order for the author to end the story there. https://mypage.syosetu.com/mypageblog/view/userid/373000/blogkey/2524975/ I wonder what prompted the author's decision here to cut the published version story short. Perhaps the novel sales figures were not reaching targets, and the author wanted to end the story on their own terms instead of facing a quiet hiatus/cancellation? |
