They've really given up at this point and will just literally adapt every LN isekai in existence. The more generic the name the better.

This isekai ship has to stop. It's always a city guy being transported to some fantasy era with no modern tech or with some modern tech like mecha. When was the last time someone got "transported" to the future? Buddy Complex is the 1st thing to pop into my head and that was in 2014. Switch it up a bit.

There's definitely more sci-fi focused stories around, so hopefully we'll see more of those adapter in the future as I too would like to see more of those stories

Don't hold your breath waiting for the isekai boom to stop.

These are mostly based on (provide advertisment for) current light novels. These are mostly made by newbies copying from each other. The fantasy/RPG setting is well established along with the mechanics of how the worlds work. The author only has to tweak the details, not build a new world from scratch.

Most of the audience for these shows are city guys fantasizing of some different sort of life. I doubt that a future of super cities has much appeal. Actually, given the world's state right now, I doubt the future is all that appealing to most people. There is a market for post apocalypse books but you don't need to be transported to them, it is usually just the near future people are trying to depict.

literally this season's trapped in an otome game, there is some discussion on whether mushoku tensei is in the far past or the far future, as the continent correspond very well to 100.million years in both directions.
