It's what they deserve! I hope we get more of Oban in the future!

Thanks for covering this! Backed the project. Fun little anime.

EDIT: Your article made me aware of this release, and allowed me to know it was available to back. Always a shame this title never had a release on DVD/BluRay. Looking forward to being able to watch it as intended.

Not backing this because I'm not using Kickstarter until they back off on their crypto integration plans, but I do hope we see more Oban in the future. I've still got my limited edition DVD set from back when it first came out.

Nice to see. Have they said anything about this coming to retail (like RightStuf or Amazon) after the campaign?

Not yet. All they have mentioned about that is under the Reward Tiers section:
Quote:
If we ever make the Blu-rays available through retail at a later date, they will not be sold with any of these exclusive offers, which are only available to you - the backers of our crowdfunding campaign!

Given the work they did to do this remaster, I would expect some sort of wider release later, like streaming. Especially if a new project is launched in the future.

Not only that, but the article also has a line that clearly states... Shout! Factory previously released the series on DVD in 2008.

I missed out on this way back. Is it worth going back and watching now? If so, I'll consider backing it, even if $63 is an ask.
