I... hate... that... Optimus... talks... like... this...
I think the voice acting is the series' weakest link, and I'm sure this will come up again during a review of Kingdom. Netflix has the dough yet they went cheap and wouldn't get the original actors. Such a shame.

The voice acting is actually terrible. Wheeljack sounds pretty great though!
There's so much to not like about this series and I actually love G1..
I really wish these show makers had the sorts of standards I have. Sometimes I wish I was in charge of these things..

I know this is getting repetitive, but the voice acting is just terrible. I gave it a chance, but for the most part it just doesn't work well. Overall, War for Cybertron felt like an exercise in how many different bits of transformer lore and references can get smashed together instead of an attempt to make an interesting trilogy of shows.

Was it Netflix's call or Hasbro's? The Japanese voice cast has some big names like Kikuko Inoue as Elita-1, which I'm guessing was Tomy Takara's decision.

Per the voice-acting: I'd recommend turning the language option to Japanese. I find the Japanese voice-acting a be lot better than the English voice acting for reasons people already said. I'm not sure which one is the original (I'm going to guess English) but the issue of the slow talking isn't there in the Japanese version. So in this case it'd be one of the few times I'd watch a dub of something over the original.

If I had to guess, either Hasbro for deciding to use non-union VAs like they did with Cyberverse before it, Or Rooster Teeth since almost all of their works are non-union from the get-go (as noted by RWBY and its use of Funimation voices).
Point is, it was probably not the best idea to go with considering the Prime Wars Tirlogy, for all its confusing casting decisions (seriously, whose idea was it to have MatPat and DashieXD in the same cast as the likes of Wil Wheaton and Mark Hamill?) The voice acting was still much better than this series. Then again, most Netflix anime and pseudo-anime tend to have weak English voice acting from what I've heard.
