So...who will get to dub it first? Sentai or Crunchyroll?

Sentai would; they control the license. animenewsnetwork.com/news/2020-07-02/sentai-filmworks-licenses-peter-grill-and-the-philosopher-time-anime/.161361 |

So, Licensors and Distributors are the ones who decide for the dub then. |

Since Sentai presumably spent the most money in acquiring the licence, they would have the bigger incentive to produce an English dub (if they decide to do one). Crunchyroll most likely sublicensed only streaming rights and probably don't care about paying to produce a dub. |

And more than likely, if it is dubbed, it won’t stream on Crunchyroll. It will probably be limited to HiDive, like many of their dubs. If Sentai and CR share a license for a show that I’d dubbed, Sentai always ends up producing the dub. The only exceptions are Aniplex shows, and that’s because both are only sublicensing the streaming rights. |
