So the leaked synopsis was right. I have to admit, I was hoping it wasn't true at first, because that's the most fan fictiony premise for a Gundam show we've gotten and it sounds like dumb wish fulfillment.
Buuuut, considering this is also knowing it leads into something with out there designs and has a very interesting staff, it's clearly not so straight forward. High expectations, though, so I hope it is as good as described here and stays good. |

I guessed the twist of the show correctly when I compared it to For the Barrel in the anime´s announcement thread! A 2000-2002 Newtype Magazine reboot of Gundam 1979: https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/For_the_Barrel

This caught me by surprise. Char piloting the Gundam sounds insane (though does the Hyaku Shiki count?) over Amuro. For a second, I thought the reason to this is becasue of Toru Furuya's controversial life that led to the removal of some of his characters.
