"IF we cross $200M domestic".
(Like, if it's still playing the back screens of cineplexes by January.) |

Actually, and I can't believe I know this BUT he appeared in the comic event that inspired the movie.

I just wanna see the Electric Company version of Spiderman. Is that too much to ask? You wouldn't even have to hire a voice actor - all his dialog was in thought bubbles.

So..fake news pretty much, since it barely passed 200M worldwide. Besides, given how literally none of the characters in the movie act like they do in the source material (actually a plus in the case for all the side characters since they kinda suck in the comics) it's not like it'll be accurate to the tokusatsu version much. (assuming people actually watched toku Spider-Man and aren't just superficially liking him because "haha, Spider-Man has a giant robot, how cuh-razy" in which case you already got Peni for that) |

“Kinda suck in the comics”....... Uhhhhh all the Spiders in the film are fan-favorites or well-liked in the comics. Noir, Gwen, Peni (especially for a character with minor appearances in issues), Porker, Miles, & Peter. Have you actually read the comics? |

Supidaman is pretty much the best part of any scene he’s in. It’s not “lol he’s weird”, it’s “Supidaman is an unabashed, unashamed tokusatsu hero among Marvel characters and it works wonders.” Kinda like how SSSS Gridman has Gridman acting like a tokusatsu hero with BURNING JUSTICE in the middle of a high school drama.

Been reading comics since the 90s. And sure, Spider-Ham is a classic, but I was talking about the new blood. I guess it depends how much you're willing to stretch the term ' fan-favorite'. After all, both Miles and Spider-Gwen's books were cancelled, and while they relaunched Spider-Gwen for this movie, it's already back down to cancellation numbers, so it depends if you mean a very small but dedicated fan-base. But fan-favorite like other popular Marvel characters? No way. Peni though, I find it hard to believe she had any kind of fanbase before this movie. She was a dreary Evangelion clone background character in a crossover event years ago. Her robot was literally a recolored Eva 01 in the comics, which they had to change because now it would be seen by more than a few thousand people and they didn't want a lawsuit from Gainax/Anno. Which is kind of ironic considering how much of a breakout character she was in the film. It's kinda funny the movie was clearly setting up Miles to be the poster child, but then Peni comes in and steals all the spotlight despite only having like 20 minutes of screentime. If they were smart, they'd do a Peni spin-off |

Am I the only one who wants to see Toei reboot Spider-Man? They did it for Kamen Rider Amazon and the result wasn't too bad.

If you started in the reading Dark Ages I don't know how valid your opinion is, especially regarding Spider titles given the mess those books were going through. Spider-Gwen has been popular since she debuted. She wasn't cancelled, she was relaunched which is something Marvel always does when they have some kind of dumb new initiative with their books. SO how is it back down to cancellation number when the book is only 3 issues old? It needs to breathe. Also Miles has a new book out to get a fresh start since Bendis left and he's a star in the Champions comic which is a spiritual successor to Marvel's other teen hero books. |

Yes, just go potentially shooting down the opinions of an entire generation of comic book readers who simply weren't born early enough to start reading comics until the 90s, because that sounds smart & definitely not denigrating... And comic fans wonder why the medium isn't as popular as it used to be. As for the "toku Spider-Man at $200 mil" thing, I'm sure it was done simply as a joke, since the same man was going "sure", "absolutely", & "of course" to pretty much every other request for sequel inclusion on Twitter. The only difference is that he gave a solid number for this specific one, one that he probably feels the movie won't actually achieve, so he felt safe in specifying a number. Would having "The Emissary of Hell" be amazing? Definitely, but I won't go holding my breath for it, even if a sequel gets greenlit. |

today kids prefer watching animated show or playing games than read comics so I dont think comic sales are valid indication to know how popular a character are specially to global audiences who rarely read comics and since US comic sales numbers overall has been far down from 10-20 years ago. |

Will the Spiderpeople do battle with evil Turkish Spiderman who fed people's eyeballs to guenea pigs and fought Turkish Captain America and El Santo?
