Well that's disgusting. Not so much because it's "western" but because Skrillex's "music" isn't a good match for a game like this.

Actually, Don't Think Twice and "Chikai" are two different songs. Same background music but lyrics are completely different.

See, what will really get the fans nostalgia going is a breaking Benjamin song Haha. I still remember all the square rpg fan mv's with breaking benjamin. Lots of shipping. The fans were all girls shipping the guys and girls together. 10 years later, ff15 comes out and now it's all girls dressing up as the guys. Theres nothing wrong with that, its just crazy how much can change in 10 years.

That's what we were trying to get across, but since it seems unclear, I edited the article a bit to clarify that. I've also added in more details about the single (the single will include English and Japanese versions of both songs).

So the plan all along WAS to remix "Don't Think Twice" for the opening, but Utada was having second thoughts about that.
I'm not as worried or baffled as others might feel, because it's still Utada's work, and Skrillex has made some KH-esque songs in later years.

While I’m not worried (artists do calmer songs all the time), it is definitely baffling. I mean - Skrillex? Plus, I don’t even see the need to remix it; sure, Light/Simple and Clean was remixed, and the remix is more popular than the original, but Passion/Sanctuary was not remixed and that worked out ten times better. Also, given the somewhat mixed reaction to Oath/Don’t Think Twice, and the more somber tone of the game, I think that having it as the intro would do more favors than Face My Fears (unless Face My Fears is also somber).

While Passion/Sanctuary technically wasn't remixed, the after the battle version they play at the end of the game is slower than the version of the song they play in the opening credits.
I'm not going to judge Face My Fears until I hear it. Whether you like or hate Skrillex, Utada is still going to be the main vocalist and she hasn't let me down yet.

I'm not defending Skillrex or anything, but what's wrong with a song produced in the west being used in a Japanese game? You also realize Utada was born here, right? So you're shaking your head at her too.
