Who do I have to put a hit on to get someone to release the City Hunter manga in the states? I'm going mad not being able to read the last 5 or so volumes.
[Or being able to own the series for that matter. I love it so much, man. I gotta have it.]

On the plus side - Hopefully more faithful to the manga.
On the minus side - No Jackie Chan dressed as Chun Li. God that was surreal.

I will admit that this looks like a pretty fun movie.

If you expect to see a City Hunter live action movie I think you will be disappointed.
In France, the anime was aired on a kid channel and therefore heavily censored: no mokkori, no crossdressing... to the point that you would think that City Hunter was a comedy anime.
The director of the movie admitted that he was a fan of the anime so I believe the movie will be a retelling of the French version of the anime.

Even in japanese, City Hunter was 50% comedy with an occasional very serious arc.
And there was no boner in the anime.
But yes, french version of the anime was censored, especially the dialogs.
The fact there is a lot of comedy in the movie is not a bad thing (the anime movies tend to be too serious in comparison to the manga).
But the bad action scenes and the usual french movie nepotism (add some unecessary characters and scenes so your pals can be in the movie) is what will ruin it.

I'm actually shocked this got funded and released. That being said, I'm thoroughly set to enjoy it. It looks very faithful to the anime I know and love.
