Words cannot describe how terrible this looks. Despite the almost Studio Trigger-esque name... mark my words, this will be one of the most watched/discussed show in the fall, despite how everyone singing its praise will forget they even watched it once the season ends.
It is exhausting just how many of these shows come out and how they are all the same. I have to wonder if the outpouring of terrible LN adaptations has to do with the streaming/internet age we live in today. Most point to SAO or Steins Gate as the reason these LN adaptations are made, and while I think there is truth to that, I think how the consumption of how anime has changed and how that has birthed monsters like the terrible LN adaptations would be a fascinating read. Silver lining, at least it isn't an isekai....where he is trapped in a world....WITH A MINI-VAN, A DOCTOR PEPPER, AND A IBN-5100.

It's almost as if different people have different tastes in what kind's of anime they like. Also Steins Gate was a visual novel, not a light novel nor was it a fantasy show.

How does it look bad ? So far from a production standpoint it looks really fine. As for the plot,we shall see.

How does this looks terrible? The animation is completely fine and the tone seems to be fitting. I'm pretty sure you're in the wrong article bud. There's literally no story similiar to Goblin Slayer.

True that. One of the things GS is famed for is its original story even with other goblin themed stories out there.

Quite the high energy, demanding song there.
I've read a chunk of the manga and a bit of the LN (at the time there were barely any LN chapters translated).
Aside from the initial shock, the story will have on viewers whenever violent conflict ensues, I am not sure how successful Goblin Slayer will be, viewers, yes, critically and commercially, not sure.
Characters are nothing more than what they are introduced, it gets bizarre when you add sexy/fanservice while the story surrounds themes of rape and sexual violence, and the location and magic systems are typical medieval high-fantasy, with that mentioned, beats, dialogue, and character progression can triumph in any generic setting.
Goblin Slayer has an interesting, twisted look at medieval high-fantasy, realistic in the way of watching micro characters in the grand scheme of a fantasy realm.
I can't say anything about its sound, ost, painting, animation, and illustrations as it hasn't aired yet; PVs never contain actual content of aired episodes.
