Excellent! I hope this plays near me. I've got my Kickstarter BD, but I want to see it in theaters as well. None of my anime friends are probably interested in this kind of weird esoteric thing, unfortunately. Maybe I can get my artsy brother to come with me.

The first time I saw Mind Game was at a theatrical screening (of sorts-- it was at MoMA in NYC). It's definitely worth seeing on the big screen. Unfortunately, I don't think I can drag my husband along for another showing; once was enough for him
Another Kickstarter backer here, but glad that this film will become more widely available in English!

I had the weighty privilege of watching this in a theatre for free last year! Like descending a rapid water-slide, it is an experience to be recommended exactly once. Any repetitions are only for the insatiable, the spartan or the reckless.

Already got my Kickstarter BD but am happy that Yuasa's brilliant film will be more available to English speaking fans. Completely baffles me that it went unlicensed for so long in North America, especially since Madman licensed it forever-ago over in Aussieland (I have their DVD release as well)

While releasing the film on home media in the US is indeed a good idea, the time is a bit off. Since some people will have already gotten the kickstarter edition, and this is for a film that eill not be flying off of the shelves.

I wound up passing on the Kickstarter because $45 for a disk of a one-off OVA seemed too rich for my tastes, but I'm glad to see it getting an actual widespread release.

It's 1 hour and 43 minutes and was shown in theaters. I understand if you think that's too much for a movie, but you don't need to bash it further by calling it a one-off OVA. It's certainly a full length feature film.

Yeah, I think maybe he got it confused with Kick Heart. That was a one-off (short) OVA. Mind Game is a feature film.
