Are all of the monetary figures cited in the article adjusted for inflation? In Japan, how many tickets did Spirited Away sell?

5-6 years ago, many good animes like Spirited Away never get the chance to screen in Thailand. Some animes opened after the fans watched import DVD already. I'm very surprise that Kimi no Na wa. opened just 3-4 months behind Japan.

Yes, for me, ticket sales are the only legitimate way to compare the popularity of films that are released in different time periods. Either that, or express the box office returns in terms of adjusted for inflation monetary terms, but frankly the number of tickets sold is to me the real barometer.

Not unless you can at least beat "Spirited Away" at the box office.

Can anyone please stop talking about inflation and just accept the fact that this movie is a great success? It makes you look dumb, so please stop mentioning "inflation". Thank you.
