DMP please hurry up and begin this Kickstarter!! I want to throw more money at you, especially since you began hinting earlier this year about this collection.

The Crater was my first and last Kickstarter backing. After being burned that bad by scum I can't bring myself to take another chance with the system, and paying again for something I should have got already isn't really exciting/enticing either.
Not saying whoever's running this one is a crook like the last, but my broken faith in Kickstarter is irreparable. |

Peter, fair enough but DMP has done several successful Tezuka Kickstarters at this point. |

I feel your pain. This was the first Kickstarter we did and because of it I never considered doing another for our job. The Crater was a title many were awaiting. But glad to it's been rescued. |

Hmm, I’ve supported several of Digital Manga’s campaigns but, I’m hesitant even though sci-fi stuff like this is right up my alley. They may have had several campaigns overshoot their goals but, fulfillment on the kickstarters has been late. Then when rewards finally are sent out, half of the time I’ve had problems receiving everything I was supposed to. So I’ve had to contact DMI about it. Eventually things were sorted, but communication has been an issue as well for the campaigns (excluding the two projects for BL books, and the great lady who ran those no longer works for the company now.) (They lost their Project-H Rep. too so that’s caused hiccups.) Did they ever find and hire a Tezuka specialist either? Honestly I’d expect less drama from a company that has run so many campaigns at this point.

Just my $0.02, but.... I've backed both the original Crater's Kickstarter (thankfully for only the base book), and a number of the DMP Tezuka Kicstarters. And DMP has fulfilled every one of the Tezuka's that I backed and were funded. Took longer than estimated, yes, but that seems to be a theme with Kickstarter projects.

The Crater was my first ever Kickstarter too. But of the 18 Kickstarters I've done since then that have been successfully funded, none of them have been a scam. I've either received my items or work is still being done on said projects. The video game Kickstarters tend to take the longest. Just a month back or so, I got my second Kickstarter ever, the game Obduction, and it was great. I've supported Digital Manga on four Tezuka Kickstarters that got funded (and a fifth that was just a bit short of its goal and didn't get funded, sadly), and all four got me the books I ordered quite successfully. You don't need to worry about Digital Manga, they're a trustworthy publisher. That's the first step I go with when it comes to Kickstarting a project after that first Kickstarter: Can I trust the person/group releasing this Kickstarter? It hasn't led me wrong since then. |

If it helps, Digital Manga's not doing this for fun, either. They took a hit in the reputation department because of that guy. And they could be doing other Kickstarter projects, instead. But they prefer to make the disgruntled fans happy. (Or at least satisfied that they can something out of that last debacle.)
You know, I got exactly what I deserved once when I bought a bootleg on tape which turned out to be, surprise, surprise, blank tape. But this was a different story, because people were trying to legitimately support the real deal. And shenanigans like that pervert the intent of crowdfunding for everyone, and hurt future opportunities for artists and their handlers to reach fans directly. So while it's an inconvenience to do this all over, be glad there is a chance for that to happen to again. Because a lot of people would just pull up their stakes and leave the original IP owner on the hook for their fraudulent behavior. Brand: The Kansai Crater KS was successful, too. But the guy running it was shady. So whether or not he's interested in the new one, Peter wants to know Digital Manga is dependable. And I can assure him and anyone else burned by the previous campaign that they're totally trustworthy |

Another thin I wanted to say is why did it take so long for Kansai Club to release it?
They never disclosed as to why. |

I hate companies that over rely on Kickstarter. DMP. Mantic Games. Sekai Project. All need to calm it.

Last I checked, Kansai Club has never released it. Or at least, I never received a copy (and no one else has reported any, either). |

Just reading the kickstarter for it,it's so obvious that it was done by a bunch of fans who had no idea what the hell they were doing. So many warning systems just going over their whole campaign. |

We can only speculate about what Kansai Club's initial intentions were. It was fully funded and then after continued promises to deliver they (he) stopped communicating with supporters, now for 2 years. The result was that it became a scam. All I want from Kansai Club now is the truth. And if you are so mad that you can give up ever seeing this book happen, then don't support DMP. If you are like me, that in spite of some one else's mistakes or crookedness you want to have the book, then get on board. These books are going to happen this time. You can have The Crater now for real, or you can forget about it. I really love the idea of having 3 Tezuka short story collections. Wow! Fantastic!.. I won't hesitate to support this. Please.. take all my money.

Not supporting DMP Kickstarters after they decided to tale back their initial promise of allowing those who selected a shikishi award their choice of whatever sketch they wanted on a first come, first serve basis for their Kodomo no Jikan campaign. During the initial pledging period, they offered those who selected this reward their choice of the sketches, and then their new project manager decided to abandon that after he claimed that it was 'unfair'. I'm not quite sure how much more fair you can get when the artist tweets out the completed sketches and someone posts a link to them in the comment section, often within a couple hours of that tweet.
