While this series sparks no interest in me, I'm glad that the Kickstarter has worked out and those that have want to own this series now has the chance to do so.

I get why some people might not be comfortable with this content regardless of the content, but it's unfair to pull out the more unusual "scandalous" portions without the context of the story as a reflection of the work as a whole. I have no doubt that these scenes may tittilate some people and that the manga artist is aware and knows that she is sometimes pandering to lolicons; however, I maintain that this manga is very distinctive from even Simpson's parody porn, bc it is NOT pornography. There is a huge difference between something that is JUST porn and something that has some adult content within a non-pornographic piece of literature or art.
I suppose some countries may permit extreme censorship, but I would hope they could draw the same kind of obscenity distinction that the US does. |
Couldn't have said it better.

See the red exclamation mark in a square, right next to the Quote button? That's the report button. If you find something in a post that you think offensive or breaches the forum rules, click it and explain why you think it breaks the rules. It sends a report to the forum moderators and if they deem you are right, the post and poster are dealt with.
When the last KnJ thread was shut down, the mods (I think it was Tempest) noted that despite the multiple pages of flamewar not one person had used the report button. It's there to be used, so if you think a complaint has merit then use it. Let the mods know privately, not publicly; that only serves to derail things more.

Always glad to see a new way for me to end up on the FBI's watchlist...I mean ummm...an obscure controversial series getting licensed. Hopefully they give the fans - totally not me I swear - what they want.

anyways, while i have never read the story,i do support the cause of not having a release blocked just because some people dont agree with the content, which isn't even that racy to begin with.

Everyone in here needs to cool off. I deleted some bad posts, and I'm not going to waste my time on any more. Play nice or the thread gets locked.

I'd recommend looking more into the content before you dismiss it as not "even that racy to begin with." I think people have been assuming a lot about what's in it rather than actually checking, and I'm thinking some are going to get a nasty surprise when they finally read this.

There's a lot of ways that this series has been misrepresented.

It is a racy series. It's being released as an ecchi title, after all! However, it's not just racy for the sake of being racy. The racy parts (fan service) actually fit well within a very well-written character study that deals with issues of child psychology, sexual awakening in young girls, going through puberty, abuse, parent death, teaching, growing up, dating and sexuality as an "older" (30's) adult, self confidence and insecurities ... I could go on. I suppose, unlike SO many other ecchi titles that exist that hardly even have a story beyond bouncing boobs, this one gets a lot of undeserved hate just bc the characters are a few years younger in the early chapters. It's actually creative.

Well, this is a win. I'm not sure what the win is for, but a win's a win.

Honestly, it should have been locked the moment things started getting out of hand. Topics like this are going to spiral out of control. It's the internet, it always happens. There's really no purpose to keeping the thread open once someone has "disturbed the bear", so to speak. Unless threads like this are bait to try and weed out inflammatory users, I don't see how letting the conversation to continue to spiral out of control (like it ALWAYS does) really does any good.

Got that right, boss.
I guess Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya isn't the only series that actually dared to do what most anime concerning lolis or yuri wouldn't do.
Depict sexual acts between young girls and not adults.
That is something right there.

This discussion is probably better for the ANN feedback section, but whatever, I think it's OK to discuss it here.
I feel like it would be a little unfair to go locking threads at the first sign of trouble. It makes sense to give people fair warning that things are going wrong. And from my experience, sometimes the warning works, and sometimes it doesn't.
And we certianly don't deliberately bait problem users. If we were too lock-happy that would be letting the problem users ruin the forums for everyone else. That said. this thread does not interest me personally, but it's part of my responsibility as a mod to come in here and deal with it.

The scene in question isn't depicting a sexual act though.

You would have to remove any of the context provided by the story to make it into a sexual act.
