I remember theorizing after the E3 footage that this game's closest equivalent to fusion from "SMT" was that you could fuse item drops to the Mirages to upgrade them...and I'm surprised that I was actually almost right.
It's cool that the game has class changing. I'm curious to see if you can just re-class almost infinitely like "Awakening," or if they're going to have features that make that impractical.
And now I'm getting out of this thread before the inevitable cries of "oh god she said 'onii-chan' in a cute voice both series are now ruined FOREVAR!"

@DRWii
lol the "onii-chan" part does seem rather... entirely out of place given SMT general tone and the general tone of FE, but whatever as long as the story isn't too moe to take seriously then im fine with whatever they throw in; though i fear the general reaction won't be.
It'd be awesome if all this cute fluffy stuff was just a smokescreen for some really dark and huge shift in tone later down the story(like madoka)

Cleary, this game was made to troll, as it's a fusion of two thoroughly serious fanbases who care extremely much about their franchises' narrative styles, then done in the exact opposite.
I didn't see many people complain when Super Mario Strikers came out and the princesses were dressed provocatively and Waluigi was doing pelvic thrusts.

The game will almost certainly be darker than it looks, but it probably won't get super dark. It's still based on a Nintendo property, and the game has already been rated B (12+) by CERO, so it can only go so far.
(EDIT: After looking up other Atlus games that came out in the last few years, the "Innocent Sin" remake and "P4D" also had B ratings, the former having the annihilation of most of humanity and the latter featuring suicide as a major plot point, so maybe that rating isn't such a great example of what they can/can't get away with.)
But yeah, the game won't entirely be kittens and rainbows. They showed a very brief glimpse of the apocalyptic stuff "SMT" is known for in the first trailer, and they've said most of the entertainment industry stuff happens during side-stories. Seeing as how most of what they've shown is the industry stuff, that means they're keeping the events of the main plot hidden. Hopefully they keep it that way so players can find out for themselves. Though avoiding spoilers for however long it takes the English version to come out will be a nightmare...

Wait what? huh... time to go blow the dust off my vita and and grab a chair to reach innocent sin on my wall of games. and to find my psp... now which box is that in. Its also a blessing in disguise that the LE of P4D are still around at a huge discount so i don't feel like an idiot for shelling out full price for it (though i wish i coulda gotten P4 Golden LE)
And yeah avoiding spoilers for that game is gonna be a challenge, i hope they localize it quickly

No game in any series is designed to troll it's fanbase (outside of cheap or unfair gameplay elements) that's just the way a lot of gamers tend to arbitrarily perceive certain decisions made within certain games.

I wasn't being serious about it; I apologize if it wasn't clear.
In all seriousness though, there's an unusually high concentration of accusations of trolling from games made by Suda51. The most notable case is the scorpion mini-game in No More Heroes, which got a LOT of complaints, being the only one to return in No More Heroes 2, only with the most-complained gameplay elements exaggerated (the scorpion attacks were made more frequent, the scorpions were made harder to subdue, and Travis's pay was reduced).

Oh please don't let Nintendo of America censor this game too.

That is an odd crossover.

Quote: | Tiki is the key visual character of the synthetic vocal software "Utaloid TIKi," which is a big hit online in the game's world. |
Vocaloid reference, perhaps?
On another note, here's hoping SMT x FE won't end up being on Nintendo of America's censorship chopping block like Fatal Frame 5 was.
