Ronia the Robber's Daughter was a great show, and I've always thought with the right dubs it'd go down really well on kids' TV and be the kind of show those kids would be talking about as grown-ups decades later with their friends in a "Do you remember..." sort of way.
It often reminded me of the kind of shows I liked when I was a kid, it had this strange kind of nostalgia to it.
So good to see it getting some attention.

Did the CGI in this show ever get any better? I tried watching the first episode when it first came out and it was too unbearable for me.

This show was great! It would be fantastic if it won, or even if the nomination resulted in a wider distribution of the show. I'd love to own the show in Japanese with subtitles, and I'm curious to hear this British dub.
As for if the CGI improves, I think it does. Either that or my eyes just adjusted to it. I wasn't sure about Ronja for the first few episodes, because the animation did look so awkward, but by the end of it I thought the show was quite beautiful.

They should release this here in the US on blu-ray too. I'd buy it.
Agreed, I thought the show looked really nice.

Kids don't have a problem with the CG
Preschool would probably be won by LazyTown since it's the closest thing to anime loli

I watched the first double-episode when it aired, and just couldn't get into it. The CG characters were for the most part fine; it was the animation of those models that was bad. Every still frame looks great, but when it's moving there's this on-again off-again uncanny valley effect. That aside, I started wondering at some point how these robbers support themselves since they never managed to steal anything...
