Awesome news, it's great to see more live action stuff coming over here. This is one that I've really wanted to see too, because I've heard good things about it.

I loved tha manga and anime, but I didn't like this movie that much; it didn't feel as geniune, and it twisted the plot a bit so that it wasn't as fun (Maity's role is too big, and you don't get to see episode 18's events, which were amazing IMO).
But there were some really funny parts in it, and Otani's actor pulled it off excellently. I'd check it out, but don't expect it to be as good.
I'm still happy to see more live action movies coming stateside though.

Not to be a nitpicker or anything, but isn't Lovely Complex simply in the Shojo Beat imprint and not being serialized in the magazine?
In any case, I've only watched Episode 1 of the anime, and it did interest me overall, but the sheer amount of Kansai accents that I heard did irritate me a little. I plan on starting the manga soon, though.
Overall, interesting news. Though I'm a little surprised that they got this before the Nana movie(s).

I thought it was okay.
While parts of it were cute and funny ( I loved Shizuyo Yamazaki as Risa's sister), the rest of it reminded me of one of those insipid Disney channel original movies.
It wasn't terrible though. Worth a rental.

I was going to say the same thing. It's definitely not serialized, because I'm suscribed and I only saw it in there as a preview chapter for the manga volumes being put out.
With that being said, awesome! I can't wait to see this movie!

Wow, a Lovely Complex live action movie? Cool... didn't know they even made one... But that's a great first to see a US anime company put out one of the live action ones! Too bad they arent releasing the anime itself too...

I love the manga so I'm going to love this movie.
Hey speaking of Viz pictures and shojo beat manga don't anyone think they should bring the live action NANA movies over here?

Yes, yes they should.
They only just announced the anime at Comic-Con, so I'm going to throw out a random guess here and say they're probably trying to work out rights for the NANA movies right now.
And while we're at it: Honey and Clover the movie.
