Probably my favorite PV yet from this series. Lot of content with a decent soundtrack. I think this might be a 1 cour though for some reason...

The more I see of this series the greater my need to actually watch it grows (if that's even possible at this point), at least there's only 2 weeks to go.
I've been looking forward to Chaos Dragon since the first bits of info started to surface and everything I've seen thus far gives me high expectations. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint, but one things for sure I definitely like the "ISOtone" opening theme song. If the series is good, I hope it ends up being 2 cour. |

Plus we get to hear Swallow's maid Meryll talk! Ulrika looks great too, so here's to hoping she gets plenty of focus! Kind of curious about the similarities between Eiha and Gakuhou, though; are they related? |

Maybe it is because Urobuchi Gen, Nasu Kinoko, and Narita Ryōgo are involved, but since their works got the split-cour treatment (Fate/Zero, Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works, and Durarara!! x2, respectively), I think maybe this one will, as well.
Fun Trivia Time: Just a few pointers about the character names, if I may. The kanji of the bottom three characters in ANN's article can indeed be read either by ANN's rendition, but let's see which other possible renditions are available, and since the Kōran faction seems to use the Chinese readings. let's add them to the mix (I have too much free time right now  ).
According to the character page in the anime's official site, Kōkaku's name is written as 紅鶴 - on'yomi reading is indeed Kou Kaku. Kun'yomi reading, however, is benidzuru (flamingo), and in Chinese it would be Hóng Hè. Lin is written as 令公烈, which in Chinese would be something like Lìng Gōng Liè. In Japanese it could be read as Ryō Kō Retsu (so maybe Ryō Kōretsu?). Kanji means "order/decree", "public (place)/official", and "vehement/furious/violent". Shoren is written 雪蓮, which can be read as Setsu Ren (on'yomi), as Yuki Hachisu (kun'yomi), or Xuělián (Chinese). BTW, the kanji are of "snow lotus". |

Man, this looks incredibly promising.
The character designs and visuals are looking great and nicely expressive and I'm really digging the atmosphere in the trailer and action. Good to see my previous favorite, Eiha's design, is still great, it transferred really well into animation. The mix of types of action looked cool and that sword move by Ibuki stood out nicely. The OP sounded good too, should be nice for excitement if given a good matching sequence. |

That Ilya style animation from Silver Link is going to be GODLY. I am calling it now.
The OP might be one of the hypest OP I heard in years. No small praise for sure. I just hope it gels together because it's supposed to be 'perspective heavy' storytelling from each of the prominent writers. It could be a jumbled entertaining mess or it could actually be a runaway star of the next season. EXTREMELY hyped. |
