Remember when Dish lost AMC? Sounds to me like DISH is the issues here...can't be coincidence this keeps happening to them.

And this is what turns people on to piracy--because with piracy, it's partly about getting stuff for free of course, but it's also about having zero bullshit to deal with. No waiting, no going to fifteen different sites, no geoblocking, no ads.

Until there's a service that can consistently offer customers this--a complete content catalogue on-demand, without access restrictions--piracy's still going to be a very tempting alternative to people who DO have the means to legitimately purchase stuff.

Or why don't people just change subscription like I don't know switch to Comcast or DirectTV, that would be a better option.

Yeah it stink that Dish customers are losing this channel. Dish is gaining controversies over this. This is why DirectTV and Comcast are attracting more channel network.

If customers are under a bundle or contract, it's not that simple unfortunately.

Yeah, my father-in-law told me about how he lost Cartoon Network and CNN. He likes his cartoons and his news so he was kind of annoyed, but he said that he also ended up getting a bunch of other cartoon channels added after this happened so he wasn't too mad. Cartoons are cartoons to him. Doesn't really matter which ones they are. Although I'm not sure if the new channels were permanently added to his subscription or if they are just some of the many temporary trials that he randomly gets from time to time. Can't really find anything online about it (just talk about the drops, nothing about replacement channels).

My wife and I used to get internet through Baja, but when we moved we switched to CenturyLink. My wife also ended up wanting to get TV after we moved (we used to just use the internet for everything before), but thankfully while Baja bundles with Dish, CenturyLink bundles with DirectTV. Looks like we may have dodged a bullet here. Although we rarely watch Cartoon Network anyway. We don't really get into most of the more recent American cartoons and we always watch anime subbed so we still watch all of that online. We mostly watch live action stuff on TV.

I use Cox and am glad this hasn't happened to this company (AFAIK) yet.

Nowadays the networks require logins from your provider to view the content. Taking a quick look on Cartoon Network's site, they disabled Dish as a provider so it's a dead end.

First CableOne, and now Dish

Glad I have Uverse. Never suffer any disputes except for Hallmark.

This stuff does seem to be happening more to Dish than others. I've had Charter for over 15 years now, and the only times I've lost a channel is the rare times a channel has permanently ceased operations (like G4 in the U.S).

I've probably just jinxed myself by saying that now, though...
