Dish Customers Lose Access to Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, More
posted on by Rachel Mahoney
Dish Network removed Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, and six other Turner Broadcasting networks from its lineup last week because of failed contract negotiations between the two companies.
Turner and Dish could not come to an agreement in the dispute over contract renewal, and both blame the other for consumers losing access to the channels.
"Turner has worked diligently for months to come to a fair agreement including multiple extensions and compromises, and it's unfortunate that Dish is once again operating in a disruptive manner that takes away networks and programming from their customers," Turner Broadcasting said in a statement.
Other Turner networks removed from Dish include Boomerang, CNN, CNN en Español, HLN, truTV and Turner Classic Movies, while TBS and TNT remain on the lineup. (Turner Broadcasting reports Cartoon Network and Adult Swim as sister networks that share the same channel.)
