OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!
*ahem* Sorry 'bout that. It's just that Yousei Teikoku is one of my absolute favorite J-Rock bands. I discovered their music when watching the (entertainingly bad) anime Future Diary, where they did the first opening and second ending themes. I got hooked on their music, and went on to listen to many of their songs. I absolutely adore their songs "Rebellion Anthem" and "Fantasy Mythology", and much more. It's not for everyone, but their music fits my tastes very well. I hope to hear more of their songs in the future. You rock, Yousei Teikoku.

You should go look at their older stuff if you have not already. They really are fantastic and skilled. I like how that one member basically called themselves a metal band. I dont see that at all lol. Yui's vocals are so perfect. The compositions are so amazing and the lyrics are always meaning full. They also did a wonderful job on the OST to that on ps3 game. Gah. This band is super amazing as I've known since Innocent Venus.
Also, their anime favorites were all actually pretty good. And Yui looks closer to 17 than 300.... Amazing they're been together so long. I hope they go to Vegas so I can finally hear them live

I love Yousei Teikoku. Perfect line between creepy and cute with most of her songs. Check out Gothic Lolita Propanganda. My favorite anime song by her is probably the Mirai Nikki OP.

Future Diary did a lot of things horribly, horribly wrong and is probably one of the worst things I've ever watched but that first OP was just glorious (As is the second ED also by Yousei Teikoku).

Thank you for the interview! And here I thought one of my favourite bands is too niche to get any exposure outside of SEA!

Really sorry about that- Due to other press wanting to interview, photo sessions, the band wanting to go home after an entire day of performing, etc, we were limited to only 10 minutes of interviewing.

Hey, look, it's Yousei Teikoku. I didn't expect to see them featured like this. Their music is pretty good (I don't have their latest album yet though). They're the only symphonic/power metal band I know from outside Europe and N-America. I discovered them through the Venus Versus Virus ED.
Yui is quite a character, isn't she?

But having seen the series ithought it was actually one of the few series i have seen where i loved nearly every character attached to it, heck my anime club was glued to the screen especially during the final moments. Calling it one of the worst things you hjave ever seen tell you have not watched much anime, look up girls bravo and eiken or any multitude of other shows.
Future Diary and Guided Fate Paradox made me fall in love with Yousei teikoku, I like to called them a Choir metal band!

I'm not the person you quoted, but I've been an anime fan for about 20 years and have seen more shows than I can reasonably count, and I absolutely agree with SquadmemberRitsu's assessment. In fact, out of the last 50 shows I've watched all the way through (I actually keep a list, with a score for each), Mirai Nikki is tied with one other show for the absolute lowest score. Although I already explained why ad nauseam in the actual Future Diary thread a couple years ago when it was airing.
To each their own. I do love Yousei Teikoku's music, though, and did enjoy the openings/endings to Future Diary, even if I thought the show was awful. And I'll second Akane's statement - Rebellion Anthem is one of my personal favorites.

^^^ Now, now, let's not turn this into a debate over whether the Future Diary anime was good or not. (It's one of my guilty pleasures, but that's beside the point) We are here to discuss the awesome Yousei Teikoku. If you want to talk about...what I just outlined in the first sentence, you are free to do it through instant messaging. I'd really rather avoid the topic getting derailed.

Don't forget: Tamakui / Yousei Teikoku (Ga-Rei Zero IN)
(performed at Ga-Rei Zero The Live and Animelo Summer Live 2009).
