Could this be his next big work?! I hope so and if it gets serialized, I will quite happy.

Sounds like this may be an interesting series.
Still, whenever I see anything TWGOK related...all I can think about is my need to see the manga series picked up for a western release!

Don't get your hopes up just yet. One-Shots often don't amount to anything, and even if it is really well-received, a possible series out of it wouldn't happen until next year.
Considering he just barely finished TWGOK, it seems unlikely he would have another series ready for publishing yet. Not nearly enough prep time has passed.

Whether it gets a full series or not I'm eager to see what other kinds of stories Tamiki wants to write, TWGOK really turned out to be something special in the end gaining my respect for the author.

Well, who really knows how much time has gone into this? Some of these one-shots are like pilots. If he is going in with that intention, you'd think he's already got something up his sleeves.
And, as you mentioned, sometimes there are gaps between a one shot and then a full series. Just to use Wakaki as an example, it was a 8 month gap between the release of the Koishite!? Kami-sama!! one-shot (Aug9 2007) and the start of TWGOK (Apr9 2008).
But you're right that not every single one-shot sees a full series afterwards. I just found out how long Wakaki took. 13 years

I would not get excited just yet. Even if this one-shot gets later on weekly or monthly manga series, that does not mean it is going to be as good and/or popular as TWGOK ever was. The manga world is shock full of "one trick ponies"; you can number the authors that do one hit after another with the fingers on your hands, and even those have a limit as can be seen by the ever decreasing sales of Rumiko Takahashi's Rinne manga.
Also, even if this manga gets as popular as TWGOK, it would be a gamble as to whether they will make an anime of it since even if they made three seasons (and several OVAs) of the former, sales were lukewarm at best
Has anyone thought this manga might end up being the story Shiori Shiomiya was writing?
