The magazine does not specify if the film is live-action or anime.
A rather important omission. Even if it is an anime, I would still have preferred a second TV season. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Oh, hell yes! This is great news! I'm assuming the film will be live-action, because that's the usual course for shoujo and josei manga that have had anime adaptations (just off the top of my head, Honey and Clover, Lovely Complex, Bunny Drop, Say I Love You, and Nana come to mind). If it's an anime and a continuation of the story from the 2011 show, that's even better!

In any case, it keeps the property in people's consciousness...and hopefully will get Kondansha USA to reconsider re;easing the manga in English.

I'm curious about this too. Btw, does anyone who read the manga know what chapter the anime ended on?

Anyways, I hope it will be an anime.

Chapter 28 of currently 69.

I'd love a second season too, but it will be fun seeing a movie as well.

I'd also love to see Kodansha release the manga in the States. Such a sweet story.

YES! This is awesome.

I am hoping for live-action, because I think the story would fit it quite well. Plus, actual jellyfish! But anything that adds more to this franchise is fine - and reminds me that I need to see how well I can read the French edition of the manga that I bought ages ago.

If it's live-action, good luck finding an actor who can pull off a convincing Kuranosuke.

I, too, would assume it's a live-action movie since that's the trend lately. Pity as I would much rather a continuation of the anime.

Whether it's live action or anime, I'll take whatever Princess Jellyfish I can get.

It could be a challenge but it's far from an insurmountable one.

So don't find an actor. Find an actress. Takarazuka Revue has been doing it for a century. Cool

Exciting news! Very Happy I hope it's live-action, as I think the story could work well in that form. But any Princess Jellyfish is good Princess Jellyfish!

It's not the type that the main anime-buying demographic buys, and there's not enough of the other demographics, so it's likely live-action.

It's almost certainly live action...

But it will almost certainly not be as good as the anime.
